I've been fishing small, brushy brook trout streams for a long time now, but haven't used a telescopic rod or a 1 piece 5 ft rod. I use 2-piece 5'6 ft ultralight and light rods, and find they're pretty manageable for bushwhacking when broken down.

Nice pike! There's a bridge with parking spots and a rough boat launch further upstream, where Turners and Paugh Lake Roads intersect - have caught some nice LMB with shallow diving crankbaits in the river upstream of the launch.

Way to go, those are great and unique looking catches! It's always a bonus when these posts have detailed "how it was done" info as well.
