Re: My 2015 In The Ottawa Valley

Sorry to hear about your mom. I went through the same thing at the same time this year.
Great year of fishing.
Congratulations on your retirement. I plan to fish fish full time in mine :)

Re: Big Brother is watching

I need one of these to document my awesomeness... My camerman can't keep up. And I have to troll too fast to keep the parasail up in the air.

perch follows... no joy

So I'm at the cottage this past weekend fishing perch with the kids. I can find them. I can see them. All they do I follow the worm/lure to the boat and then swim off. Wash rinse repeat. What's up with that? I did notice random blobs of eggs in the spot I was in. Are they in spawn mode and uninteres...

Re: Any Quebec trout fishermen out there?

I thought we were doing ok this year. Last year was the worst I can remember. Although I am excited for the opener I've wasted time trying to get lockjawed trout to bite in water that was too cold. Like Las year for example. Even what they were feeding on was different. Another week and then it was ...

Re: Cabelas in Ottawa! It's happening

As someone who followed the Mirabel project closely, I'm skeptical. Plans were drawn... Muckey Mucks talked.. Corporate websites with all of the dates...An exit off the highway was built.. And.....eveyone bailed.... Been there , done that. *almost* bought the t-shirt.... if only the dang store had o...

Re: What do you do to fish in the fall?

Am I wrong here saying that's only true for a few weeks in sept? By the time thanksgiving rolls around ( what I would call fall) you got to go deep and slow. Nothing going on in the shallows but pike. Tube dragging and dropshotting. Give them plenty of time to look at it.

Re: A Ten Day Roady North Report.

it's not usually quite a "vacation" when one travels alongside me, but instead a "fishing trip." Prepare to fish!!! I hear ya. I am no stranger to the complaints of the uninitiated. You don't really appreciate the fishing buds you share the same intensity with until you share a ...

Re: A Ten Day Roady North Report.

I started reading this at work, but felt I was rushing, so gave it a proper read at home.
What a great trip. I have to make it up there one day.
Love the coasters!
I have distinct memories of solo trips that are special, but I find I prefer to have company. (depends on the fishing partner though, LOL)

Re: How do you retire a favorite old reel

I thought I was the only one!
I've never gotten rid of any reel I've ever owned. I have a few I've owned for over 30 years.
Their days of use are long gone, I just don't have the heart to clear them out. So many memories.
There's no grandiose display or anything. They just collect dust on a shelf. :(

Re: Reply from a request for a prize

The amount of dudes and their girlfriends who barely fish who get sponsored is actually shocking to me. As long as you fill in the blanks for their requests, put together a nice marketing plan and the numbers make sense, usually they give a discount and some swag. All about exposure. Before I discov...

Re: Fishing & Farting

The net gets dipped. All of it. Must be before fishing starts or the day is compromised.

Want to get bit?
- tie a crappy knot
- get someone to hold your rod for a sec
