Re: Muskrat lake

I had luck with the largies this past weekend...

Cavitron buzz in the weedy bays and stretches... lazy blow-ups but still got into a good amount of 2lbs. + fish.

I have a lot of luck with Perch in that area... maybe 15m off shore from the parking area. There's usually a steady bite...

What about zip-cut pro?

Anything "As seen on tv" has to be great! BRB... taking another monster fish off my banjo minnow.

Haven't tried it yet... but it claims to cut 100 lb. braid... therefore likely cuts 50 lb. braid effectively.

Can't give you any info. on the ice conditions... but DO IT.

Do anything you can to get out there, that's why we have busses. I'm sure a group of 16 year olds will get on with their snowboards, so no difference there.

I went to James Bay... lots of trucks and shacks out there. It is a few km's past Hurst Marina on River Rd.

The ice is nice and THICK there!

Hey Guys, I am heading out ice fishing with my cousin on Saturday. We are both from the Nepean area and don't feel like heading out to Petrie. Any suggestions on where to go? The St. Croix MOJO Bass Slop n' Frog is a great option. Heavy with a fast tip, it does the job for a fairly reasonable price.

SEAFOAM through the PCV valve in my truck did wonders!!!

Fun white smokeshow + increased throttle response and smoother acceleration! Highly recommended!

I prefer the round style for sure!

I use an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur reel and love the thing, it has NEVER failed me once. Toss that on a St. Croix Premier Musky (or Legend Tournament $$$) and you have an awesome combo.
