I have the vexilar fl 8 and it does the job just fine.
I have never had an issue with it and I bought it used from a guy on fish-hawk who is pretty hard core.
It sure changed the way I fish.
Just my 2 cents.

I was out there after Canada day. Biggest fish was a 28lbs salmon. We caught 1 bow, 3 salmon and 3 lakers (one was 22lbs). She was a hog, lol. It took us 3 days on the water not your record 6 hrs, lol.
