I have sold them for a number of years. Really, anything stainless will work. In a restaraunt, the cook will rub his hands on a Stainless steel bowl after handling something such as onions to take the smell off of his hands. So, really, all you need to do is hang off the back of the boat and rub you...

Getting the Nitro back today with a shiny new powerhead, so I will be spending time on the water trying to get break in hours on the motor rather than fishing. Than next weekend, I will be able to go real fast to all those bass spots. :D

My favorite method is sort of a semi texas rig. Start by shoving a 1/8 oz bell sinker inside the tube until the ring on the end of the weight bulges(but doesn't break) the end of the tube. Take a Shaw grigsby HP hook and peirce the end of the tube while going through the ring of the weight. from the...

As I understand it, you can launch and fish from either side of the Ottawa with a regular licence, but only the Ontario side with a conservation licence.

New law for the Ottawa (apparantley)

Some customers were in this morning and said they were stopped on the Quebec side of the Ottawa and had their licences checked. One person had a conservation licence and was informed that you can fish on both sides with an Ontario regular licence, but only on the Ontario side with a conservation lic...

generator

Wall-I-Guy: The quick answer is no. After thinking about it, I feel the generator would produce an AC current, while the battery would produce a DC current. This conclusion are my thoughts only and I definately stand to be corrected by somebody with more than the little knowledge I have about this. ...

Fisher: underneath where the cables come out of your foot control, there should be a set screw for tension adjustment of your cables. Tighten this carefully, as too much tension can snap off the cable wheel inside your foot control.

Jigs: One of your problems was the weight of Power Pro you were using. The 15 lb PP is the same diameter as 6 lb mono, and reacts on the reel as such. This smaller diameter line is too limp and can blow up on you in a hurry(as you have found out) On a baitcaster, I never reccomend lighter than 40 lb...

The Calcutta 400 is a Muskie sized reel, and should be paired up with a Muskie rod. As Xenos stated, my recommendation would be a Pc70mf St Croix, or a similar G Loomis. When you go to buy a rod, take the reel with you in case the retailer doesn't have that model in stock. I always like to have the ...

You should change your line not only because of nicks and memory, but also because of damage from ultra-violet rays. These rays cause your line to become brittle and seriously reduce knot strength. I strip all the line off in the fall and respool with fresh in the spring. Then, before each tournamen...

B.A. two years ago, my on board charger failed, and I had to use 2 automotive style chargers for a month until I could get a warranty replacement installed. Both auto chargers (I have a 24 volt system) were high quality and had deep cycle settings. when going out fishing after charging with these un...

You might want to look at a flasher for the back. It takes about 4 seconds to translate the signal from your transducer to a picture on your graph, whereas a flasher is instantaneous. That 4 seconds can put you high and dry on a shoal when you are running.

Before you lay down your hard earned cash for a charger, make sure that it is one for deep cycle batteries. Even an automotive charger with a deep cycle setting gives a less than optimum charge and can shorten your battery life. Ideally, an on board charger is designed for trolling motor batteries a...

Your charger should know at what rate to charge the battery. As the battery nears full charge, the amps of charge should decrease until the battery is fully charged. As to using your battery on half charge, this will seriously shorten the life of your battery, as it will develop a memory, and only r...
