Good to see he has grown into a fine young gentleman.

Re: Congrats to Rob Jackson
I'm glad RJ was able to do that article. I know what its like to have spots "borrowed". borrowing techniques that you have been showed is called learning. borrowing spots that you have been showed is called stealing. RJ is one of the best at what he does.....catching fish, pure and simple....

Re: Boat sank in BoQ
no exclusion in marine / boat policies for fishing in rough water....
but many policies have layup periods that often include the month of November.

Re: New World Record Musky
if someone really catches one greater than 65lbs, i hope its kept. it'll end the bullsh*t that surrounds the world record muskie crap. if you look at the williamson fish, the mount, it doesn't even look that big, and its mis-proportioned...fins are in wrong places.... if you look at any of the "...

Re: Brown Trout Tactics
your right RJ, they may not.
But the same tactics i've mentioned work for inland lake speckles, which are a similar species.
I'm quite sure a slow trolled J7 would work, especially in stained water!
Something to try when its time for lunch.

Re: Brown Trout Tactics
To answer your question, I don't run very far back, unless the water temps are in the 30's and 40's. Once in the mid 50's and 60's we have hit them as little as 35' behind the boat....that's a short lead! When casting for them you can have the fish follow right up to the boat. Have fun out there. Br...

Re: Brown Trout Tactics
I fish browns a lot. When the water temps are above 60 degree's, they are top predators. we troll with shallow stick baits and do quite well. if the water temps are in the 40's and 50's, you have to downsize and go slower... but once the water hits the high 50's, and into 60's, they'll smash baits l...

a 5.4:1 is the slowest reel i would use for leadcore... i have an old penn 309 that i used to use for 5 colour leadcore, and i couldn't handle it...it was 4.1:1. have a look at the daiwa saltist reels. they make a rock solid reel that will hold 8 colours of core, and is 6.4:1 gear ratio... when runn...
