early season lake trout help
Hi All looking for a little help here. I've never targeted lake trout and know virtually nothing about it. I am heading north the first week of June on what is for me a walleye trip. Morning and night I will be fishing walleye. However my understanding is that the lakes within this outfitter's terri...

Re: Fishing in Quebec
All I am saying is if you are from out of province and don't like it, TFB. You live in Quebec Steve? Go to your MNA. Vote accordingly. that was how I interpreted your post Craig. if your out of province and don't like it, don't go. Your point to Steve was spot on IMO.....if you're a native Quebecer...

Re: Fishing in Quebec
holy geez there Craig....I think instead of holding back you should let us know how you feel. personally I don't get why this is such a big deal. I go to Quebec every few years for a guys walleye weekend and you can't use live bait so now you can't use dead bait either. leeches. worms. twister...

Re: Looking for Rideau river advice
in early season on the Rideau look for anything that flows into the river. the water flowing in will be a bit warmer and the walleye will be there.

Re: Fishing lodge help
I think you need to zero in on what species you are wanting to target and do your research from there. 12 hours is a lot of driving time and the number of facilities within that range is virtually unlimited. I posted two links in this recent thread http://www.fish-hawk.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=50...

Re: Opimika Wilderness Camps/Cottages
Hi Eric in that neck of the woods I've fished the Marten River and Red Cedar Lake. Both were good, although I preferred Red Cedar. We stayed at Red Cedar Lake Camp, if I was to go back there, I'd stay at one of the other facilities on that lake. This link http://getnorth.com/ shows you tons of place...

Re: Kipawa, antler''s kingfisher lodge, bisctasi, lady evely
Kipawa is an odd place. I've read many reviews of people saying it is great and many other reviews saying it is a big body of water, the fishing has slowed down, it takes years to learn kind of stuff. I've never been and that a result of reading too many reports / reviews commenting on it being a t...

Re: Kipawa, antler''s kingfisher lodge, bisctasi, lady evely
I've been booking two guys weekend trips a year for 20 + years with walleye as a target species. So I read a ton of stuff on different lodges and bodies of water. Kipawa is an odd place. I've read many reviews of people saying it is great and many other reviews saying it is a big body of water, the ...

Re: Ottawa River - Deep River to Swisha
thanks. I appreciate your thoughts. The past few years I have been fishing above the swisha dam and find the walleye fishing better. We always get in to a few fish in the 22 - 25 inch range which we used to consistently be able to get below the dam. I really like the stretch of river between presqui...

Ottawa River - Deep River to Swisha
Hi I used to fish this stretch of river a lot but haven't been up that way in about 5 years. Stopped going because the walleye fishing was gradually getting worse - numbers were down a bit, size was down a lot. I find the walleye fishing picking up in the river in other places I fish it now that the...
