Re: Stringease Fastach clips
I actually bought these last year after reading about how much RJ liked these. I haven't lost a lure yet and find them harder to use than swivels but they don't seem to affect the lure as much. What were you using them for?
I have used them from crankbaits and jerkbaits mostly.

Re: Double Uni-knot reliable?
I have never had any issues with a uni to uni know. I typicall use it for braid to flor leader madterial. I make sure to get both sides as wet as I can (usually spit) when the knot it still loose and then cinch it down as hard as I can. I also only use about a four foot leader so it doesn't travel t...

Re: Battery??
I use Interstates and have never had a problem. I would suggest getting the biggest one you can fit in your boat/afford.
Total Battery will have you covered for anything you need. I do not think they Carry Interstate, but I really don't know who does around here.

Nice write up Norm. I guess you have gotten hooked on the DR craze like some of us here. The Kigan guides do look funny but I have not had one break yet and apparantly if you do break one, they will send you out another one to have installed by someone local instead of having you pay S&H down th...

Re: Help to decide if I should buy Lowrance Elite-5X DSI Son
The 2d image should work with speeds faster than 30mph but I imagine the 3d still won't. I would suggest going to a local store and checking them out.
I can't see a reason why it wouldn't work for ice fishing but I don't ice fish so I can't help there.

Re: Help to decide if I should buy Lowrance Elite-5X DSI Son
seahawk, It sounds like your fishfinder may have the transducer set a little high. Before buying anything, see if you can lower it a bit. This should help you gain some single and get the unit to work at higher speeds. As for the lowrance DSI unit. You really can't beat that price. I paid way more f...

Re: 12v vs 24v
No problem and nice buy!!! I went with the terrova when I upgraded. The nice thing about the powerdrive is that although it is a great unit out of the box, should you want to try the I pilot, it is compatible. I have this on the terrova and it is great to follow tracks you can set up for trolling or...

I would not expect results like that here, but a double header on one lure is quite possible. It is nothing new for me though as I have seen two small lies hooked on a pointer 110...
Pretty cool if you can get them both into the boat.

Lol Steve, Clearly I spend too much time in there period if I can tell you where the blades are in the store!!! Same here. He has multiple sizes beside the jig rack but I am not sure what the sizes are.fiiish wrote:I'm almost sure I saw some at Paddletales... can't remember the exact size.
Maybe Ed can chime in, or give him a shout!

Re: Alabama rigs legal in Canada?
I for one have not thrown one. Not because I think they are stupid but because I haven't gotten around to it yet. The way I look at it is I know Timmy Horton loves throwing them and Aaron Martens turns to them when nothing else is working. If those two top level competitors depend on them to fill th...
