Scott the water is not owned, the property that abutts it is, there are exceptions but not worth discussing. The MNR or your local municipality can show yuu what is private vs public land, visit them and ask your questions.

This weather, the cold snap, has the guys saying we'll be fishing whities, lakers, salmon and rainbows on Colpoys Bay in Feb. That'll be the first time in over 20 yrs for me, can't wait :D Get out there people it's a great season even if it's a short one.

Danforth and Brydons are tough to set on rock bottoms, this is where the Bruce excells.Ady the chain is nice and necessary for overnight anchoring but very noisy when fishing, you have to go under water and listen to chain tighten and loosen.

Tomcat most important thing when anchoring is "rode" length of anchor line. A ratio of 7 to 1 is considered best 7 X depth, 10' of water 70' rode. As for anchors for a smaller boat a Brydon or a Danforth will work well or a small Bruce is best. Go to a marine store to see what these anchor...
