Re: How is the Muskrat Lake Ramp in Cobden and Other Things
Launch is free and lots of parking. The parking lot is partly taped off do to soft ground which is understandable and a couple of ice shacks stuck in the way but still room to park. Could get a little tight there this weekend though with the pike and walleye opener. I don't know why those guys cant ...

Re: How is the Muskrat Lake Ramp in Cobden and Other Things
Put my 18 ft in on Tuesday. The water is still very high but you can stand on the right side where the sign is to get in the boat.
Just have to be carful for the cement walls, but is very doable. There was a couple other boats there and 1 laker caught.
Looked like about 7/8 lbs.

Re: info on Hermitage lake
Hey Brian I really don't think you would stand a chance of getting on that lake. That is what is called the man made lake and is private property all around it. I think the crown you talk about is not assessable unless you know somebody in there on one of the cottages. I know the guy that owns the p...

Re: Is the Ice Off Muskrat Lake?
Just got back from Renfrew and swung around by Muskrat. Well she is wide open and there is a truck parked there with an empty boat trailer so I guess someone is pulling lures. Water is very high and cant see the launch walls at all. I think I will wait for a week or so. Laker

Re: Is the Ice Off Muskrat Lake?
Not a problem Tim I am getting a little anxious myself. I may wait a bit for the water to go down a bit though. I have never seen it quite this high before and I think it will get worse. It is only a 15 minute drive for me to check on it.

Re: Is the Ice Off Muskrat Lake?
Badbass is right it will be the middle of the week or shortly after. I checked it out yesterday and it was open water for a couple hundred feet out. If the water comes up 6 inches or so the whole parking lot will be flooded and will be a mess, there is still 4 or 5 ice shacks there but still room to...

Re: Open water fishing...
I took my shack off Muskrat yesterday. I was out last Monday for a couple hrs. with my wife and one of the holes in the shack had enlarged to about 20 in. in diameter. There was still about 18 in. of ice but I figured I should take it off when the going was still good as the landing was starting to ...

Re: Ice conditions for this weekend?
No I will be going to the races in Eganville this weekend. My granddaughter is running in the Vintage races. Will hit Muskrat next week. Had a bunch of Crappy show up at the shack when the derby was on so I will be after some of them little critters. Saw them with the camera down the hole. :lo...

Re: Cameras?
I have an old Cabelas black and white and it works good. Use it in the ice shack a lot when I am fishing for pike or wally. I can put it down at the bottom and watch both minnows or jigs and the holes are about 6 ft. apart or I can put it just under the ice and point it downward and still watch both...

Your good to go I was there today and moved the shack out deeper. In about 25 ft. and there is 13.5 in of good ice.
Drove out with the truck. Now if only they start to bite.
