inboard vs outboard
I have a friend that is seriously considering buying his first boat, mostly for cruising/tanning/swimming etc and occasionally fishing. I've been advising a 16 - 18' outboard (70 - 90 HP) bowrider and others are telling him inboard is the way to go. Just wondering what the general consensus out here...

pike stoup....stewp?
For those of you who know how to de-bone a pike, stumbled across an awsome meal tonight. fillet and cut pike strips into 1" chunks, fry and season (the lemon pepper made it) , add boiled taters and a can of mushroom soup. wow......CC's kid who hates eating fish was asking for more.

My go to is the spook but if CC is using it, doesn't seem to matter which top water you have if the bass are on the prowl. The retrieve seems to make or break the catch. I like to let the ripple go away and give it a slight twitch and settle before bringing it home. Anything watching that lure after...

smelt for bait?
Bought a bag of frozen smelt and can't get any interest in the house to help me eat them. Anybody ever used them for bait?

CC and I troll probably 50% of our fishing time. Besides the fact that we get pike, bass and walleye in deeper water, there is something to be said for enjoying the loons, serenity, scenery and companionship while slowly cruising the water. Mind you, that all ends when I finally figure out what and ...

Fitzroy Provincial Park fishing
Heading there this weekend to do the camping thing. Anyone know if there is shore fishing worth bringing some equipment along for?
