Re: Ice On Lakes, North Frontenac

Lakes are still iced over for the most part and fair bit of snow in the bush. The upcoming forecast this week should move things along.

Re: Clam drill auger conversion kit

I would go for the Dewalt 20v Li-ion battery. A good battery seems to be the make it or break it with the auger drills.

Re: Game camera not responding

What kind of camera is it? Could depend on what setting you have it on, delay/burst mode etc.... I would also recommend Lithium Ion batteries, a good set should last you months....

Re: Who's ready for deer season?!

Lots of action on the cams at my hunting property, I struck out for a second year in a row for a doe tag. Luckily the big 10 point from last year is still roaming around. Even with the nicer weather we've had lately some areas of the property are still wet. When I went up the other day to check the ...

Re: Calabogie-trout

Could of been what you were chucking or they were content with what they were feeding on, I've had some solid outings this spring so far, I've also had days where I've presented everything I had with me and couldn't get a bite.... Lakes being stocked shouldn't really have an effect on if your catchi...

Re: Trout fishing

He definatly doesn't own the road into bottle lake, that is an unmaintained township road it's not private at all I know that for a fact! It's been like that for longer then I've been alive. There is a yellow sign I believe just as you turn onto bottle lake that clearly states unmaintained township ...

Re: Trout fishing

Bottle Lake has been deemed no longer "stockable" for Specks as someone put Largemouth Bass in the lake, don't waste your time. Sad as that is where I caught my first Speck ever. RJ there's a bunch of here'say in the area also about a fellow who bought half the property down around the ba...

Re: Outboard Mechanic

Will give the seafood a shot, I've used it in the past. Would still like a good mechanic to give it a once over.

Outboard Mechanic

Any recommendations in the Beckwith, Lanark,Perth area for an outboard Mechanic?

Need a little 2hp Honda kicker tuned up. Hasn't been used much in the past two summers and last fall when I had it out there was a hiccup/misfire.

Cheers,

Re: Calabogie ice

There was a lad out fishing in the middle of Silver Lake today when I drove by, I was suprised to see him on the ice this time of year, must be familiar with the lake I guess.

Still some solid backlakes, 20-24" of ice takes a while to disappear, just use common sense this last in the season.

Re: Brown Trout

To think at one time you could actually drive a 4x4 truck into the Quinns. Then the roads got real torn up and rocks turned into mountains. Now I don't know if you even get a quad into South Quinn, but west was generally a much easier tour as there was actually a hunting camp on the lake called Kelf...
