The first two were caught on the east side of the lake in water depths of 150ft, however they were biting at 100feet. The last one was caught on the west side using a 1 ounce jig and a bass tube jigging at 100 feet (close to the bottom)

Re: Charleston Lake
Hey Guy,
First of all thanks for all the tips, Swedish pimples and 1 ounce jugs with 4” bass tubes did the trick. Got 3 nice lakers, a 4lb a 3.5lb and 3lb.despite the rain it was a nice lake and we did pretty well.

Well this was unexpected but always a fun surprise! Had a pretty good multi species night. Also caught catfish by the Pail full. Tight lines.

Headed out in a few weeks for a few days to try our luck on Charleston Lake. Would like to get some lakers and will be trying to jig for them in some deeper water. Any bait suggestions for the lake? Any help would be awesome as I havent fished there before. Thanks guys.

Chris

Bite on the ottawa
Anyone had any luck on the Ottawa? Went out for pike and not so much as a bite. Is it too early with the cool waters?

Re: New gear you want to try
Hey Guys,
I picked up a Kastking assassin for the heck of it. Read a lot of good reviews and pretty hard to complain at $80. I will post a reply and let everyone know if they are decent or not. For me i'm most excited for my new Crestliner. Gonna be a sweet summer!
Cheers and tight lines.

Hey,
Paul, ended up going with Heather. The coverage was better at only a minor price difference. Thanks again for the tip!

Re: Boat Insurance
The policy was indeed for agreed value. the boat is a 1450 crestliner discovery with a 40hp merc. I think i will go with portside as they are offering the same as the others are a better rate.

Re: Boat Insurance
Hey Lape, What were the differences in coverage options between port side and north star? Maybe I missed something when it was explained to me but they both offered me $5000 in content and $5000 in towing and $1500 in boat rental. I imagine you probably have more than $5000 which of content. I unfor...

Boat Insurance
Hey guys,
Just shopping around for Boat insurance. I got a really good quote from Portside insurance here in Ottawa. I also got a decent one from Northstar Marine Insurance. Anyone ever deal with them or have any other suggestions.
Cheers,
Chris

Boat brands Crestliner vs Smokercraft
Hey guys, Just looking on some feedback between two models. Crestliner 1450 Discovery with SC and 40hp merc and a smokercraft Angler 16sc with a 40hp etec. From what I have read the Crestliner is a superior boat but i wanted to see what opinions are out there. https://www.smokercraft.com/showroom/20...
