Re: Talon or elctronics?
IMO, all depends what kind of angler you are. Do you see yourself spending a lot of time in deeper water,10ft+? Or are you a junk fishermen spending most of your time in less then 5fow? In my eyes electronics are the most important tool in my boat along with the trolling motor. Locating fish and fin...

Re: Bass Pro buying Cabelas - Effect in Ottawa???
FYI Sail also offers price matching, IMO what the smaller shops offer is the ability to bring or carry high end/specific items you wouldn't nessicarly find at the big box store. When I was working at Sail there were numerous times that a customer would come in looking for a specific item i.e Lucky B...

Re: Bass Pro buying Cabelas - Effect in Ottawa???
And to answer the OP's question, I don't think they'll change anything, Cabelas and Bassproshop are similar yet different.. It'll be nice to have around, especially where it's located for you guys in the west end of the city. It'll give Sail a run for its money I'm sure. Shawn.D's :twocents-twocent...

I wouldn't ice fish without a flasher but, during open water some of the best shallow water largemouth anglers always turn their graphs off.

Dude Wipes are a must out in the boat, don't leave home without em! http://i857.photobucket.com/albums/ab131/dirtnasty1/4E282EBC-57F0-4AD3-A563-08A64E914762_5.jpg Are they just as "rugged" as baby wipes? Couldn't tell you about baby wipes, all I can say is they definitely 'get the job don...

Great fishin dude! Glad you were able to get out and explore how spoiled we are with all the local lakes. Disappointed we couldn't get a day out in the boat this year, but there's always next year!

Years End.
Another year in the books, and another couple of fish caught. In what seemed to be a strange start to the year with the late ice, the fishing seemed to be different then normal, for me they just weren't where they were 'supposed to be' for most of the season till things got really rolling around mid...
