Re: Florida Flats/Keys fishing adventure (pic heavy)
Awesome multi-species report!! Love the shark and the lizard fish. I love circle hooks as well. I use them almost exclusively. Use them regularly when targeting and soft mouthed species. Just got to remember to set not set the hook aggressively. The were easy to find local a couple of years ago but ...

Re: Alittle question about Barrhaven
There is still some fishing options in barrhaven... Carp, walleye, Muskie, panfish.... PM if you want to some suggestions but the good thing about barrhaven is that there are some good spots on the Jock and the rideau that are in close driving distance.

Re: Taking the train
From Via: Good morning, Thank you for your email. You can request a special stop with the specific mileage point and the subdivision on certain routes. If you are going to a fishing camp or lodge, you should get the information required from them. Thank you for contacting Via Rail Canada. If you hav...

Re: Few quick questions
I agree if you fish from shore a 7ft rod should be great unless you bushwack or fish were there is a lot of cover. Based on what you fish for I would recommend a light or medium light rod. Depending on what I am targeting I have pre-tide rigs as well. Especially if you do not waste your time on the ...

Re: Rodbuilding stuff Ottawa-Gatineau
I ordered from Mudole and they have good products but you get an additional customs invoice when you order from them (an unplanned $20 from UPS or something IIRC). Better to order to ogdensburgh than Canada

Re: burbot/ling......where and how?
As an aside, you can also catch them just before the ice up and just after iceout from shore. I caught a couple at the end of November:

WTB: Beginner 5 wt fly reel
Hi All,
Looking to buy a 5 wt fly reel (also looking for matched line, leader and tippet).... Picked up a rod which I can use as a fly rod and maybe trying to introduce myself to some fly fishing basics but looking to keep things inexpensive for now.

The next full moon should see a spawn and have them making there way shallow (in numbers and in size)... they should be in full pre-spawn mode in the next couple of weeks. http://www.roughfish.com/burbot http://www.outdoorcanada.ca/burbot-ice-fishing-primer-part-1 http://www.outdoorcanada.ca/burbot-...

Rocky Ramp Construction Begins at Hearts Desire
I have not fished this area in the past couple of years due to the amount of poison Ivy and wild parsnip but sounds like I may have to take a walk sometime soon: After years of community consultation and long-standing safety concerns, the RVCA is decommissioning the Hearts Desire Weir and beginning ...
