Re: Terrova or xi5

You already know my opinion on motorguide W series. The challenge is getting these units serviced. And parts such as just a worn pinion are not available you need to order a complete transmission if it fails.
I know of a good powerdrive V2... that may be available next year! Lol
Good luck Joel!

Haven't been this excited about a bait in a long long time, the different configurations of this bait are pretty much endless.

Can you rotate the tails on those Brad?
Again so see you are sticking with the 'small' swim bait variety this season.

Re: Softwater countdown! What are you dying to try???

I went a little overboard this off season and I'm still not done. I've got a few more trips to Paddletales before opener to pick up the rest. I don't know how I managed but I ended up with one of Startzar's NRX 893 JWR's, a 706cb and a Calcutta Conquest 200. Although I used the cranking setup for a...

Re: Motorguide Trolling Motor Troubleshooting

I have been running a wireless 55 for 3 years now and the one thing I found is as soon as the battery in the pedal runs a bit low my connectivity gets a bit iffy. I used to put the cheaper cr2032 sunbeam batteries but now I only use the better Duracell ones and found my signal strength to be much b...

Softwater countdown! What are you dying to try???

With softwater season slowly (painfully slow, I might add) approaching, what have you avid anglers acquired late fall or over the winter months that your dying to see in action? For me, well, I have fissues,(fish-yous) and have more than just one item. I acquired last year a rod and reel that was on...

Yep!
I won first walleye of the trip last year on a kamooki 2.5" perch. Paid for itself!

I have also smoked some nice bass and pike with them!

Re: Gatineau Sewage Dump

Found the article on Gatinea/Ottawa sewage outflows. It was easy, don't know why I missed it the first time. The Google map is really good so you can avoid fishing next to a sewer: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/gatineau-tracking-sewer-overflow-river-1.3716937 Rod If you looked in the history...

Re: Sausage Help - Why is it always so dry

Hats off to Fat Luke! He is 100% right. You are murdering your sausages. Any fat content you may have had, is now lying on the top of the water you boiled them in. Don't break the casing until you are nearly finished cooking. Avoid it at all costs. As this will just see all that rendered fat escape ...

Re: Gatineau Sewage Dump

I have a rule of thumb. May be wrong, but it works for me. I will not eat fish after the first storm when temperatures hit 30c or greater in the summer. Once the water temps settle down in the fall, I will than harvest fish in this area. And by harvesting, I mean 1-2 that just need to be enjoyed. I ...

Re: Open seat today 11am - 3pm. **Updated***

How deep and what structure or lure were you fishing for BM bass since I did not caught one when I fished on Sat? thanks. Incredibly shallow, over heavy weed beds, hitting as close as I could to reeds (cat tails) and than retrieving a chartreuse buzz bait with a white curly tailed grub, a steady re...

Re: Open seat today 11am - 3pm

Well, seat sat empty, which was good as I needed the room for the fish! During the heavy rain this afternoon, I finally dialed in what they wanted, and man did they want it! I had many flashes of bronze and blow ups on my live target crappie and sunfish, but no commitments. Some love from the perch ...
