Re: Ice fishing pop up tents - what’s your preference

I have a clam 2000 and have had it several years now. I like the built in floor and the ease of setup and take down. I also like the fact that if you sit in it you don’t have to anchor it down. I also have a clam 6 person hub style pop up, which I haven’t really used but like the 2000 I find the con...

Re: motor and gear oil

I personally would replace the gear oil just in case there was any water infiltration, cheap peace of mind.

As for the motor oil I’d probably leave it.

Re: Sharbot Lake

I’ve fished sharbot a couple times in the past. I always used the provincial launch, go in early and just pay when I leave, never had a problem. Also from what I remember the east side of the lakes has lots of shallow areas so be cautious when zipping around. I always fished on the west side of the ...

Re: Charleston Lake

I fish there often for Lakers, I personally use jigging spoons 2-3” in length, 3/4 to 1 ounce. Swedish pimple or something similar would get you on them. Using just spoons, 2 guys we usually hit double digits in the fish count in a morning of fishing. Hope that gives you an idea of what to use.

Re: Fishing in Alexandria On??

You’ll catch pike in the pond, it’s the same pond they have the annual ice fishing pike derby on, you’ll catch panfish in there as well, all from shore. Being in Alexandria you will only be a 15-20 minute drive to Lancaster and it will put you on the shore of lake st Francis, you’re options will ope...

Re: Cornwall question

Used to fish for catfish there as a kid being I lived a stones throw away, never pulled a carp out of that area but haven’t fished it in probably 10 years so there might be carp there now.
