I got some aluminum cut and bent at a heating shop in Nepean, name escapes me now. Done 2 decks, lids, live well and rod locker, carpeted over the decks. Stainless hardware , bolt and nylock nuts (just in case you need to take it apart) I've found some rivets loosening up on the decking.
Good luck

Was the battery low on water, or has it run dry? That will shorten there life expectancy.

You may get some interference on your fish finder if you run it off the trolling motor battery ( interference can occur when the trolling motor is running)

sometimes you can get some image interference when running the trolling motor and fishfinder off of the same battery. When fishing in shallow waters it may be best to get the widest transducer angle as possible.

Wire costs

Check at Walmart and see if they have 20 or 25 foot booster cables #4 size I think I remember pricing ones there for around $50.00. This gives you 2 wires for the same price. I'd better check the solder connection on my boat that I made 8 years ago, they are probably on fire right now!! Good ...

If you guys want to get fancy you can also use heat shrink tubing to cover the wire connector joining area after you use the OX-Gard. Also make sure the battery interconnecting cable is of the same as other wire. As far as soldering, you do not have to do it, but like other people say I see more pro...

Ya I put in 2 separate fuse blocks thou, each on fused off a different wire/main fuse, that way is a if you overload one you don't loose everything and it makes it easier to diagnose a problem when they occur. I used the 2 prong automotive type fuses. Use OX-Gard on the prongs and connections to pre...

Batteries in Series not parallel, you need 24 volts
I would recommend the biggest wire you can fit, minimum 4 gauge,
solder the connections and use OX-Gard on all connecting points.
And yes you only need two wires.
If you need additional help, pm me.
