Re: Ruisseau de la Brasserie
So technically, the raw untreated sewage would still, to this day, be making its way in the Ottawa River? I’d be very curious what the CFU/per 100 ml. ratio would be in regards to E. Coli levels. And again, to this day, I wouldn’t dare eat a fish out of the Ottawa River!
"Accor...

Re: Ruisseau de la Brasserie

Rex nailed it. The Ottawa riverkeeper did water quality tests and it's by far the dirtiest watershed in the area. It's too bad because it's a historic creek with lots of potential. Right now it is the ugliest filthiest creek I've ever seen, it's a disgrace So why doesn't anyone do anything about it...

Re: Ottawa's getting crowded....

Definitely noticed the same thing. One area where it's particularly obvious is Dow's Lake. Also seems to be a lot less fish than there used to be. I've seen lots of poachers there although I have not had any hit me with their fishing rod (yet) :D

Ottawa River Mooneye

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has ever had success specifically targeting mooneye on the Ottawa River. Not asking for particular spots, just which type of areas to look for.

Thanks!

Re: Shallow Pike

Nice fish! The best way to get a pic if you're by yourself is to keep them in a net and take a pic in it. Live and learn, everyone makes mistakes :D . If you're releasing them it's definitely best to keep the mortality rate as low as possible.

Re: Looking for fishing spots and tips Ottawa river

Hi TNT, I was wondering if you have any spots to recommend. I was looking for a spot where my kids can find non-stop action, my grandmother can catch fish and I can make a youtube video of my dog catching a fish. Thanks for sharing your spots with me- I don't get out much. Problem solved man! http:...

Re: Report a Poacher

Thanks for the replies. Amongst Jimmy's tangential rants he made some good points, not going to bother posting it. I guess I just need to have a thicker skin and not sweat the small stuff. Lots of trolls on here as well! I was going to say clowns, but refrained as the prerequisite for being a clown ...

Re: Report a Poacher

So the guy never actually fished? Wow, good times. RJ The guy fished after I talked to him (got pictures of that too). Thanks for the response everyone, it's nice to blow off some steam as being a big, short tempered man it took a lot to not snap his rod. I'm also glad that I didn't show him ...

Re: Report a Poacher

(plus he told me he was going for walleye) At that point did you tell him season isn't open until the weekend? RJ Yes... and at that point I took pictures of him and got beaten with a 6'6 daiwa (after being told "it open april 1st"). As the maverick pointed out, I will post pictures, as t...

Re: Report a Poacher

I love these threads. Next will be Bass... Did he have Walleye on a string on the bank? if not VERY unlikely a charge would ever result never mind getting "arrested". Why did you feel the need to mention he was Asian at all? If he was anything other than that would you have even men...

Report a Poacher

Hello All, Caught an 30-40 year old Asian male poaching walleye on the Ottawa River near woodroffe last night. Called the NCC and MNR and nobody came. Took his picture and he chased after me, aggressively hitting me with his rod asking me to delete the photo (he knew he was poaching). I'll post the ...
