Re: Moon River Muskie help

Ken O'Brien's 65lb muskie was caught on a small black and silver rap count down. Might soon be recognized as the world's record ? https://www.musky.ca/ontario-record-muskie-ontario-record-musky.htm Guessing trolling probably best to cover lots of water, no giant weed beds, a 9" Shallow Raider i...

Re: The Value of Large Walleye

It is shocking to listen to some of the old timers (with respect) on how great the walleye fisheries use to be. Also could someone set me straight on what appears to be such an abundance of walleye fisheries in the USA like Michigan and Minnesota. It seems that they have a jump on us in their stock...

Re: Want to buy my first yak - recommendations

There's only One ultimate human powered fishing craft. Hobie Mirage Drive Pro Angler ! Lots of new peddle drive models out, but still feel the back and forth motion of a mirage drive is superior to circular motion, easier on the back too. Hobie has a new economical model for 2018, the Compass, might...

Re: Deep water suspended bass

Are you talking about smallies roaming and chasing forage in the main basin ? More of a late summer to winter pattern. Baits that imitate SHAD I find good such as Crankbaits, jerkbaits, tubes, jigging spoons in a lot of lakes around here. A lot of the time they are not roaming and are relating to de...

Re: Dusting off the salmon baits

You got a coho, wow, awesome eater ! You ever try a 6" hot pink dodger and peanut fly for them ? Meant to be the ticket in a lot places. How old was the yozuri ? Have had UV/ out in the sun too long, damage a few fav. baits over the years but have gotten my money's worth out of them. Just trick...

Re: millhaven creek browns

Seen Superdad with recent brown pics. near the smoke stacks ( not this year yet .) bit more west. So worth a try from shore ? Use to be good at outflow too. Steve Hamilton knows browns but fishes much more west . My internet fav. brownie fisherman is UT_Falcon from the last recent years for that are...

Re: millhaven creek browns

Those Loyalist Browns were a hoot in the 80's and 90's, use to do an annual trip there every Easter long weekend. Also fished it while working in K-town. Figure there's not as many fish as there use to be, as not as many are stocked and think little natural reproduction. There's still a small ran of...

Re: Constance Bay Derby!

It was a fun one for sure, even driving on and off the ice was fun. Great job by the organizers, bait, launch, lunch, and prizes. Tried a new area with a small group, landed 8-9 pike ( myself ), biggest was 4.1 lbs. It was in second at 12:30 pm when registered. Got bumped, as usual. Ist was 6.9 lbs,...

Open water walleye, lakers and even spring salmon in January on that jewel of a lake, Lake Ontario, has been done.
Tempted, but off season for me, Kayak Wars starts Feb.18th, then I'll have motivation. ;)
