Re: Portable trolling motor position question

Doesn't matter, whatever side is more comfortable for the driver. i clamp mine at the back left and sometimes clamp it up front when casting weed lines etc.

Re: Shirleys Hardwater Decline

Sounds like you both had a pretty good year out there (CCLad and Sckarkner). Thanks for sharing and hope you have a good spring too if you've packed up the ice gear for the year.

Re: Another season in the books.

Love these updates, cool stuff! Sorry to hear about your uncle that's tough. The annual kids tourney is just icing on the cake. I would have loved to have a chance to partake in something like that as a kid. Good on you guys to get the young ones out there and to teach them the fun and responsibilit...

Re: lure color

Do you like to target a particular species or are you a multi species angler? Personally I fish for trout (lakers, Brookies, splake, bows and Browns), walleye, bass, pike, Muskie. I use Plano trays of various sizes and a back pack (any backpack that can fit 3-4 trays at least will do). Backpacks goo...

Re: Hard water Trout in the Calabogie area

I parked at the start of st.pierre road off to the side. There is a clearing with a marshy pond before the lake and I went in that way. There is a stream in the middle though and the ice wasn't completely frozen there so just be careful of that.

Re: Ottawa Fishing

You should be good to go. I've fished along the paths of dows lake many times. It's great for bringing kids because you can get a lot of pan fish action to keep them entertained.

Good work gents! Nice when you can fight the burorcracy and get results... And the NCC ain't famous for being easy to work with. I'm surprised no hippies complained about the sensitive grasses we may destroy there now because of the boulders being moved lol.

Re: Hard water Trout in the Calabogie area

Do you have a quad or snowmobile? All of the trout lakes up that way that are close to the road are easy to get to but the fishing is not the greatest. A couple other lakes up that way that are near the road are st.pierre (specks and real close to road) and limestone (rainbows and a couple kms to wa...
