Re: Carleton Place

So I hit the water below the dam in Appleton, float tube and fly rod. 8 smallish, no big size but tons of fun.

A few of these guys were in less than a foot of water.

Thx for the tip, and I managed to hit Bait Casters as well.

Re: New to ottawa east

You could try below the highway bridge where the 44 crosses the Rideau, lots of weed beds on either, side, deep water and I've seen lots of folks fishing there although never done it myself. There is parking on the inside of the guard rail on the west side of the bridge.

Carleton Place

Hey all - I have a few hours to kill while my daughter serves at the LCBO in Carleton Place tomorrow. Suggestions for float tubing nearby? Bass, pike, Muskie ? Fly, spin or bait cast...

And I'll definitely checkout Baitcasters!

Re: Rideau River (Kars area) Bass outing tomorrow

I managed to get out on the Rideau Friday night for an hour or so and Sunday morning. I was fishing shallow (3-4') most of the time occasionally a bit deeper of off Gideon Adams park. Friday I managed 1 fish and 3 misses but then I had ski boats dropping skiers 20' away and jet skis roaring through ...

Re: Aluminum repair

Thx all, picking up Al pieces tomorrow (Tuesday) am at the metal supermarket on Stevanage, apparently they are filling 2-3 orders a day for marine Al.

Aluminum repair

I picked up a used Misty River and want to cover the bilge drain, live well in and outputs. The local marina, Pirate Cove quoted a minimum $350 for 3 x 3/4" holes patched by welding. So I can either find a local welder (suggestions?) or patch myself with rivets, aluminum and 5400 cement. Wrt pa...

Re: Rideau River (Kars area) Bass outing tomorrow

May see you out there later, if you see a float tube bet and fly rod around Gideon Adams c'est moi. Fishing last night was slow, last week managed half a dozen in an hour... Very shallow.

Re: Bass Lakes around Smiths Falls

Thx!

I'll give Otter a try, I am assuming there is public access and a float tube will be OK?

Bass Lakes around Smiths Falls

Any suggestions for bass lakes around Smiths Falls, smallies or large mouth? I have a few days off, a float tube and fly rods looking for something other than the Rideau River. Thx

Re: Hard time with rivers.

I can see where you are coming from, what I do is focus on areas that others ignore. I usually take the canoe or float tube on the inside of weed beds while most others are fishing the beds beside the main channels. This morning was tough in the tube with fly rod but I managed to score after switchi...
