Re: FHBOVT 2015
Yeah, if it's not too much trouble to get #047 again this year, that would be great. Then I don't have to laminate another sign, work keeps real close track of the office supplies

Re: FHBOVT 2015
I'm in: Supernova224 Thanks for organizing it again this year Peter! I just read the rules, looks like I have to try to master the selfie-with-a-fish, from my kayak. Not sure how that will work, but I'll give it a go. I don't think I could ever bring myself to purchase a selfie-stick, even for this ...

I'll add In Depth Outdoors to the list. I find James Holst really takes the time to break down his rigging, tactics, etc. Check it out on Youtube.

Sure, this thread won't change anything. But sometimes the merit lies in just being able to have a discussion, and see different people's viewpoints.TheMaverick wrote:Although well intended, this thread will sink to the bottom, like all of them eventually do.

Great idea Peter, as an angler stuck to the shore quite often I'd be all over that.

Speak for yourself. I originally thought the diagram was some kind of hybrid two-bodied, single headed fish.StarTzar wrote:Most people here also know to not grab them by the eyeballs .... no scientific research needed.

Re: Oh Joy Oh Joy
There's a lot of talk about holding fish vertically, grabbing them by the lower lip, etc. I think this pic was the real take-away point from the article. Although I'm sure most people here already know this, and don't hold bass this way. Again though, not really based on any scientific research, but...

Well said zippy, it's frustrating to see this type of thinking (or lack thereof). Definitely a missed opportunity for Ontario that might not come around again for a while.

That's at least partially true, they were used in NY state to try to control weed growth in their canal systems.procrafter12 wrote:I feel the most ridiculous part of the article is that it says they were introduced to the usa and europe as a control for weeds.

Sorry guys, I'm a little confused here. The title of that article is "Asian Carp Makes Way into Lake Ontario", but goes on to say that the 2 carp were found in contained ponds???

Great point Bradford2, it's worth noting that while the people discussing it here may have different opinions, the fact that it's being discussed and debated is a good thing.bradford2 wrote:The reality is that the people doing the most damage will never read this or any other internet article on the subject.

Re: New to fishing - what should i get
Tons of great advice in this thread. This is exactly where I was last year, and picked up a fairly similar set-up to what's being recommended here and it's worked great. 6'6" Medium Fast, paired with a Shimano Sedona 2500. Someone else recommended the Sahara, which is one model up. I love mine ...

Well Craig, I can certainly admit when I'm wrong, and if that PM didn't go through I apologize for saying that it was deleted. I thought I sent it but clearly I was wrong. I just couldn't understand why my comment of "this is a public forum, no?" would be deleted without any suggestion of ...
