Re: Bow Lake (Lanark) ?

Looks peaceful enough but, I don't know if you noticed but in one of the pictures on the slideshow, there is clear water damage to the ceiling in at least one of the photos. That on it's own is a pain in the butt to fix, but combine it with the fact there could be one or more strains of mold up ther...

Re: Bow Lake (Lanark) ?

I've checked satellite images on Google Earth and the lake is indeed 6 feet deep, and wouldn't support any type of trout fishery. Just warm water species, like Perch, Sunfish, Pike, Barbot/Mudpout/Bullheads, baitfish. It wouldn't be a cottage on a lake containing trout so if that's what you are look...

Re: Oriole lake access - bogie

I'm not 100% sure about this but I believe the reason you cannot get up close to the Barrett Chute Dam or drive up to Oriole Lake anymore is because a woman and her young son drowned there in 2006 (I think?). It was a popular spot for people to go and sunbathe and swim. They would hang out in the sp...

Re: Has anyone fished Waba Creek?

I made a typo, I wasn't suggesting there was now trout in it. lI was just wondering, and you answered my question. I agree it does look nice in sections, but the fact it begins at White Lake, probably makes it useless for stocking due to all the predators that would be in the creek. Still would be i...

Re: MEMQUISIT LODGE WEST ARM..TRIP FOR MY DAD

Great report, I find fall is always a tough time to fish in. I was hoping to see some pictures of you and your buddies having a drunken joyride in the OPP boat you mentioned! I guess you saved those pictures for yourselves eh? haha. I'm sure your Dad's spirit was there with you on this trip and will...

Has anyone fished Waba Creek?

I've drove past Waba Creek multiple times and never had the chance to fish it. It looks like it would be a good place to fish for potential coldwater species but I never tested the temperature etc. I assume that since it begins as the outlet of White Lake that it contains most of the warm water spec...

Anyone fished Quadeville, or near Combermere, Ontario?

It's a shame that the streams that once held beautiful Brookies seem to be dissapearing more and more as the years go on. About 20 years ago you could drive an hour outside of Ottawa and there were dozens of little streams that had natural brookies in them. Now some of these same creeks and rivers a...

Anyone fished Rockingham Creek, near Combermere, Ontario?

I'm looking for anyone who's fished Rockingham Creek or the Creek in Quadeville that crosses through town, and up the road a bit before you get to Quadeville. They look like they are worth fishing but I can't really tell. If anyone has fished them can you shoot me a PM ? Thanks so much.

Re: Lake Trout fishing, need advice

Jigging works all year long. I find that large white curly tailed jigs, work well. It even works in the summer when it's slow. Everyone who has commented has given good advice. Make sure to check the regulations because trout spawn in the fall and close for a while. There are some year round lakes, ...
