I went out last night out past where all the shacks used to be. Ice is pretty thick, but getting thin in some spots with current. Not to slushy and the bite was still on before dark. No extension needed.

Wow, I'll have to say that was a great read on Shimano products ^ . Makes my decision on buying a new ci4 over a few other spinning reels, not because of your history with the reel, but what you said about the company and what they provide to their customers. Thanks

Went out today past the huts and managed 4 walleye and 2 sauger. Not of great size but was a good afternoon on the ice. Some good ice out there now. I was fishing on 8-10 inches of some good blue ice.

Perhaps your in the right spot to get skunked. Fished there about 75% of the time last winter and rarely got skunked. Even caught a small sturgeon, what a treat that was.
