I'm sure it will be a people highway soon as well! I definitely wouldn't advise posting specific locations on here. Lots of lurkers that will check it out (like me )

My buddy nails a tonne of them in the shallows of Lake Simcoe and a small lake in the area.

Nice!! I'm surprised they haven't made them catch and release yet, not many left in the area. I'm sure they are delicious though! Nice haul!

Re: Float Steelin' Down The Saugeen.
Awesome post! Those Huron and Georgian Bay tribs put the Lake O tribs to shame in terms of quality of experience. Sure, the fish might not be as big or as plentiful at times, but it's a much more pleasant experience. Thanks for the report! I miss living in that area

Re: Someday in Ontario
I'm kind of on the fence. Studies have shown that in areas with bluegill taking bass off the nest is detrimental even if they are released. I think it's fine the way it is. On the other side of the coin, I'd much rather see people keep bass than walleye, native lake trout or big pike in zone 12/18. ...

Nice fish!! Too bad about the Boga grip ripping it's lips, I really think they should outlaw those things. Looks like fun, congrats on the successful outing! Beautiful fish

Re: What is your opinion?
I agree that it's legal and they can do what they want. But I also agree that it's a poor example of stewardship and I wouldn't participate. Although this is much worse as they're still spawning, I don't think there are any tournaments that don't have an impact. With bass tournaments you can't convi...

Nice fish!! Glad to hear my previous rant had such an impact! Haha could be worse, at least you're not holding them by the gills! Good angling!

Can't wait for the report and congrats on running an honest contest. Not sure what the punches from the locals was all about, there are certainly lots of jealous people out there. There are lots of tough keyboard gangsters on the internet! Looking forward to following your adventures this summer! Le...

Re: What a week on the water!!
Nice fish man!!Hate to sound like a jerk but keep the steelies off the bank unless you're keeping them, it removes all of their slime. That last photo is a perfect hold. Good angling bud! Tell that to EVERY steelheader that has ever taken a photo. NO steelheader hasn't taken a photo of a fish layin...

Re: Spring Laker Trip - Cedar Lake
If you're looking for lakers my advice would be to not go to Cedar lake. It has lakers, bass, muskie and walleye. I would look for a lake that only has lakers and/or specks. I know people that have fished there and told me the lake trout fishing sucked.

Re: Canoe fishing
Also a huge fan of canoe fishing. I do most of my fishing out of my Grumman canoe. It's not fun to portage but can take a beating and is a great fishing canoe. I'm in the process of planning my canoe trips for the summer, I can't wait. The only problem I have with it is that catching big pike and mu...
