Re: More Thievery in Arnprior

This is just one example with the problems at that launch: Ontario Hydro owns the shoreline, the City of Arnprior (not MacNab Twp) owns the road easement, Boeing (Arnprior Aero) has jurisdiction over the land opposite the launch which is part of the airport, and the town crapped the bed on actually ...

Re: Heads up around the Madawaska (Theft)

I hear you about not wanting to weld, but that's my default position on many things mechanical. If it can be done properly it'll be fool proof. My jack is welded to my trailer. My son, who is my fishing companion on most trips, hates thieves, speedboaters and jet skiers...not necessarily in that ord...

Re: Heads up around the Madawaska (Theft)

Thanks for the heads up.
I fish there quite often, but out of Clay Bank usually.
My 2 wheel drive Ranger can't get my boat out of the Baskin launch.
But the town has a plan to improve it though.

Off to buy some locks for my hitch and trailer today...

Thx

Re: Bagot Long Lake Launch?

Hey:
That's all you're going to find on this lake--was there some time back and I see no reason why you'd have any problems launching a sportspal. I've gotten a 12' aluminum in there. The road runs close to the water off the crown land. I've seen no other place to launch on that lake.

Re: rain is a good thing

Don't mind fishing in rain either. Last September I went out on White lake with a steady light rain with a newby and in 3 hours we boated over 30 bass and pike. No record holders but tons of fun.
Worth it.

Re: Fitzroy Harbour / Constance Bay area

I used to live there and there are many good places to go in the stretch of the Ottawa you're talking about. First and foremost, go get a sailing chart of the Ottawa--it's sold in sections and is very detailed. You can find just about every species in that water body, apparently including brown trou...

Malakoff Rd launch on the Rideau

Hey All:
Anyone used this launch at the south end of Malakoff lately? Just wondering as some launches I've been to lately have been less than ideal, and I've never used this one before.
TIA

Re: Where should I fish

You can't go wrong with Black Donald/Centennial/Norcan lakes. I fish the breaklines and points and get a mix of everything from smallies to musky. Lots of walleye off the deeper points and shoals as well. There's two launches on the north side of Centennial, and Black Donald is easy to get to from t...

Re: May Two-Four Fishin' Report

I'm sorry but that red horse face thing is one ugly fish!

I was on the south end of the Miss last Friday and despite some slow times we got a dozen pike and got into some stubborn walleye around dinner--all just under the slot size but fun nonetheless.

Nice fish T.
