Re: Post-storm splake

That's a quality set up with the quad/rack combo! I have a 2 piece shimano trolling rod (9' foot) that I use for lead core. How long is that musky rod you are using ?

Anyone want to ice fish 'bogie for stockers?

Looking to get out for some stocked action in the 'bogie area. I've got all the gear , just not the local knowledge or experience. If anyone has any knowledge of the area and wants to tag along send me a PM.

Cheers

Re: Clam drill auger conversion kit

Thanks for the replies! I'll probably just bring both out and see how it goes. I was trying to figure out if I needed to go out and buy a specific "high torque" type drill for the clam kit to work, but from what it sounds like I should be good to go with a basic drill. Thanks again

Clam drill auger conversion kit

Hey guys, I'm brand new to ice fishing and I picked up a manual 6 inch auger (Sail brand) and I'm looking to to use the Clam power drill conversion kit and I need help figuring out what drill to use. It says to use a high torque 18v drill. I currently own a standard 18v ridgid cordless drill as well...

Re: Used boat taxes?

If things haven't changed since I bought mine... you won't pay taxes on the used boat. You will however need to pay tax for the trailer. This will happen when you go to the MTO to get a trailer plate/registration and all that. I got a separate receipt for the boat and trailer so that I could bring m...

Re: Question regarding Humminbird Helix 5 models...

Get the GPS model with the Nav chip. I use it ALL the time. its nice to have on new bodies of water for exploring, you can drop way points if you want, you can trace your path while on the water. If you are trolling, use it to troll a contour line or just trace your path back while trolling. Some of...

Re: WFN.....What happened??

Same issue with me... I called Rogers and they told me that the only way to get WFN now is to subscribe to it online directly with them. They also told me that no other competitor (ie. Bell) offers this channel either. I haven't had a chance to shop around to see if that's true or not.

Bobs lake boat launch ?

I was just wondering if anyone has any info on bobs lake boat launch options ? Fees aren't an issue, but would prefer anything with a dock to make solo launching easier. Thanks!

Re: Choosing the right trolling motor

I've got the same setup ... 80lb Terrova/iPilot... I don't even use the foot pedal ! If you spend most of your time near your console you'll be more than happy just using your handheld remote for the Terrova. Also, what size breaker did you get ? And have you installed the Terrova yet ? You'll need ...

Clicked on the link earlier today...GREAT price ... I should've bought it when I first clicked on it. I just went back to buy it now and the price is now 100 bucks more than it was earlier today ! It was mis-priced and now it's too late! Ah well

Re: Calabogie trip- room for one or two

I'm busy this weekend unfortunately but would definitely be interested next time. I have limited experience ice fishing and it would be great to get out and learn from others. I've got my own rod/jigs etc and 4x4 vehicle , but no other equipment (no auger/flasher etc)... let me know next time you're...
