How is the trek out to the shacks now? I haven't been out since the dump of snow, then all of the rain. Has this latest cold snap helped the conditions any for someone like me who walks out and drags a sled? I'd like to get out for a bit this evening before this big storm screws it all up again.

I dropped a 2 day old work Blackberry down the hole last Tuesday... I've never dropped to my knees so quickly and managed to catch it while over an elbow deep in the water. Ripped the battery out right away and put in a bowl of rice for 2 days... works like a charm, luckily! Would have been awkward ...

Just a heads up that Sail is having a no tax sale right now.. most of the flashers are also on sale.

I was out there all day yesterday in the snow storm.. I wouldn't recommend bringing vehicles out there unless someone has a plow. Some pretty good snow drifts accumulated during the day between the shacks and the ramp, a few up to my knees. Even the parking lot was messy for anyone who doesn't have ...

Very slippery out here. Definitely need to purchase some spikes! I've been pretty active on perch since about 11am. Still hoping for something bigger.. but they help pass the time!

How was the bite for you out there today? It was very quiet in my shelter haha.. maybe next time!

Got out for a little over an hour this evening after work.. still working frozen minnows. 12 inch walleye and small pike (19-20 inches) both around 4:30 pm. Could also hear some excitement around me at the same time.

Thanks for the updates gentlemen. I am new to Fish-Hawk and new to ice fishing as well.. just got into it last year at the end of the season unfortunately. This year I have all of the gear and have been itching to get out there! I live in Kanata so this sounds very convenient for me... any recommend...
