Re: Haliburton Gold Trout

Thanks for all the info, great story and great looking laker!

I'll definitely have tubes and paddle tails in the bag and report back later in the winter if we have any luck. The cottage is also on Redstone so it's good to know there's monsters in there.

Haliburton Gold Trout

Hey all, just a curiosity post looking for some intellect / stories. I've been up fishing the Haliburton area quite a bit the last couple years with friends at a cottage, have had great luck for bass in summer. This year we're testing our luck through the ice, and targeting the Haliburton Gold Trout...

Re: Redstone Lake - Haliburton ON

No response, none needed.

Found some super productive shield-like structure in the area that produced some monster smallies.

Redstone Lake - Haliburton ON

Hi all,

A buddy of mine and I are heading up to Haliburton this summer and will be fishing Redstone Lake. Wondering if anyone has fished it and had any luck for Smallies or Walleye? Or are we wasting our time?

Any info helps!

Grand Lake - Carcajou Bay - Algonquin Park

I am planning a canoe fishing trip to Algonquin. I want to go mid august this year and was looking at eastern access points. Right now my number one option looks to be Grand lake access and staying in Carcajou bay. Anyone familiar with the area? Any fishing tips and campground info at Carcajou bay w...

Any tips for Lakers in small lakes?

Hi guys, going to be fishing a small lake up near bancroft this summer and was wondering if anyone has any tips for setups to target these lake trout?

I was thinking 6lb florocarbon line with a #1 mepp or a silver spoon in a smaller size... Maybe even try jigging with a swim bait?

Thanks in advance!

That's good to hear. Yes I see the no winter fishing status on the MNR site. To your knowledge, is there any good bass / walleye action?

Griffith - Ontario (Burns Lake)

Hi all,

My buddy has a cottage on Burns Lake. A small lake in Griffith township in eastern Ontario. I was wondering if anyone has any insight on this area's fishing species and bait selection etc.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Walleye on the Rideau - Ottawa

When the Rideau is high its usually muddy, very hard fish when its like that. For walleyes u should stick to the Ottawa, much more stable fishing. Rideau is GREAT for sb and big muskies ;) Yes I know the Ottawa is the better of the two choices for sure and I will be trying there in the opening week...

Re: Walleye on the Rideau - Ottawa

The eyes love the scented grubs that's for sure! As for the water levels, I can probably get the plastic lower with maybe a half oz head on it!

Thanks again.

Walleye on the Rideau - Ottawa

Hi all! I am born and raised in the Peterborough area and this is my first post in Fish-Hawk! I have been a student in Ottawa for years now but never through the summer as my job is with the government in Peterborogh. This summer, however I may be shacking up in Ottawa all year round and hoping to n...
