Re: Ottawa River Reg.
This is about 65 years old and over. Here is the reply I got from Que. MNR Hello, Further to your request, indeed, in area 25 an Ontarian who fishes in the part of this area located in Quebec, does not have to obtain a Quebec fishing license. He must carry his Ontario fishing license. In additi...

Re: What's the law???
Keep in mind that with your Ontario license you can go up the rivers on the Quebec side that feed into the Ottawa river to the first bridge, but with a Quebec fishing you cannot enter any rivers on the Ontario side, because they are in a different FMZ than the Ottawa River.

Re: How are you doing for walleye on the Ottawa this winter?
I've been fishing 3 days a week since second week of January and find that the bite is really weird this year on the Ottawa. If I didn't have a Vex I would be complaining, cause most of my bites the walleyes looked at the bait for at least 15-20 minutes before deciding to eat it. I am over 60 walley...

Re: Lac a La Barbue
Rented a cottage there last summer, if you bring a boat and you leave it on shore at night make sure you are not afraid of snakes. Had about 10 black water snakes in the one we had.

Re: A quick question about the Castor River
Minnow species are counted in that number. There are a lot of fish species in the Castor. I've caught pike, walleye, bass (mostly largemouths ), carp, catfish, bullheads, I've caught my only chain pickerel in the Castor(west of Russell), pretty much every panfish can be caught in there.

Re: need minnkota powerdrive 2 foot pedal
The pedals are usually fairly easy to repair using little plastic shims. My Powerdrive pedal was over ten years old but I had to replace the little shims once or twice a summer. I sold my motor this Spring and I showed the buyer how to repair it. The little plastic shims are installed at the 3 press...

One of these days I'll leave all my rods at home except my flipping rod and just my jigs. I definitely need to give them a try.

Mine is an older one. And that part of the console doesn't look that big.
Thanks for the picture.

Re: Set-up for Walleyes
If I am fishing in water shallower than 15ft I usually have two holes inside my flipup. One i jig, the other I setup a deadstick. The deadstick setup is a drop shot setup. For the bottom weight I use a jig with a nose hooked minnow and set it right on bottom then a hook and minnow about 6" up. ...
