News is that the Carleton Place boat launch opens on May 15th for local residents only. See this article: https://lake88.ca/2020/05/13/boat-launc ... onditions/
I don't have news regarding the other boat launches onto Mississippi Lake.

Re: Price of minnows?
I bought 2 dozon Dace medium minnows at Baitcasters last weekend for 8$ per dozen. I believe the Shiners are a little more expensive.

Re: Boat seats
Hi Terry. I purchased the Cabela's Elite High-Back Boat Seats and I love them. That being said, I would have loved to get the Cabela's Pro Fisherman High-Back Seats (I noticed online that both the Elite and Pro are on sale right now). I don't think you can go wrong with either of these, but check yo...

Info on refinishing floors/casting decks
Not sure if this is the right forum for this question... I'm looking to refinish the casting decks and floor of my new (to me) boat. Just wondering what the benefits and cons are for marine carpet versus marine vinyl flooring. Also, are there any good deals to be had on either marine carpet or marin...

Thanks for the info Laker.
It's mildly disappointing, but not unexpected.

info on Hermitage lake
Hi all. Just wondering if anyone has information on Hermitage Lake, not far from Eganville? I've tried finding information on the web, but there isn't much on it. From what I can see using the crown land atlas, there is a small tip of the lake that is accessible by crown land (the North-West tip) fr...

Re: Too much smallies?
Large Mouth were biting this past Saturday (Oct 15th), but needed to wait for the sun to come up and warm up the water a bit. Once the water warmed-up we had a strong bite. Lots of 1.5-2 pound LM bass, even had one caught at 4 lbs 11 oz. The odd pike were hitting as well. We were fishing a small sec...

Thanks for the replies gentlemen.
Yannick, if you don't mind passing the info on to me, I'd appreciate it. Out of curiosity, where did you stay in Mo Bay?

Montego Bay (Jamaica) fishing charters?
Hi. Does anybody have any recommendations on fishing charters in the Montego Bay (Jamaica) area? My wife and I are taking a trip in late November and would like to try a new fishing experience.
Thanks,
Brian

Re: Lake Clear ( Eganville )
Usually, if you go straight out from the boat launch at the campground, you hit a weedy drop off at around 12 feet of water. Troll back and forth along that drop off. I like to use a crankbait that goes around 4-6 feet down, usually in a perch or a crawdad colour. Lots of people go further out durin...

Re: Lake Clear ( Eganville )
Hi pikeman.
I was up this past week and the regular bite is on. We were marking them in 30-50 of water and they were at various depths, mostly at 12-20 feet depth. I've only had luck at night on this lake, but others seem to be able to catch them during the day.

Re: Mississippi river bass near Almonte
I would second Clayton Lake, especially the river section between Clayton and Taylor lakes near the dead-heads at the bend of the river.
I'd also look into the Mississippi river at Appleton, upriver from Almonte. Great boat launching and lots of bass and hammer-handle pike.

Re: Regs on Walleye
Sorry, I should have been more clear. You are correct, Zone 15 regulations state for Walleye: S - 4; not more than 1 greater than 46 cm (18.1 in.) C - 2; not more than 1 greater than 46 cm (18.1 in.) However, the lakes that I fish are in the list of exceptions to zone 15 regulations (specifically La...

Re: Bass and Pike Water for Steady Action . . .
Mississippi river, between Appleton and Almonte, launched from Appleton. It's about 10 km of river and you might only run into a few other boats. No tubers or seedoos usually. You won't get large bass or pike, but you will get lots of them.
