Re: opeongo algonquin labour day

First thing I do even when going to a lake I know is to find the depth of 50° water and start from there. Things might be a bit different if the thermocline has broken up though by Labour Day. I saw some temperature probes on Amazon with several feet of wire then a display unit. Is that how you fin...

opeongo algonquin labour day

Has anyone been on Lake Opeongo recently? Curious if anyone can share current or typical knowledge of depth of lakers early September. We are heading there for a camp and fish over Labour Day. We fished it for the first time in early July and went 2/6 - landed two 2-3 lb lakers on a very hot and cal...

Re: Bark Lake/Kaminiskeg

So looking at the Avionics chart the only spot I see that would qualify as a sunken island is that hump I highlighted near the top end of the lake. From what I understand that top end of the lake is where the better Walleye fishing is. Cheers https://i.imgur.com/MmEzb1P.png Good eye Smitty, that lo...

Bark Lake/Kaminiskeg

Good day

I am looking for some pointers on Bark Lake/Kaminiskeg - staying in the area next week.

I have read that the sunken Island on Bark Lake is worth heading to - is someone able to point me in that direction?

Thanks

Re: Bullhead/mudpout

I'm going to introduce my 3 year old daughter to mudpout fishing tonight. I grew up to it but haven't done it I years. I now live in Clayton. Any good water bodies that hold a good number of these fish in the Lanark area? Just looking for thoughts. Thanks everyone. They're definitely in White, I've...

Re: Spring Crappie in Ottawa Area

If you're looking for shore fishing opportunities close to Ottawa...I've always done well on the Rideau River in early spring..mostly around Burrits Rapids locks and also where Kemptville Creek flows in. Check out the bridges where the smaller feeder creeks dump into the main river. Look for dark b...

Re: Yamaha F25 EFI

too soon to tell as I only have 3.5 hours on it and much of it is doing break and in and dialing in trim. But so far it hasn't bothered me.

Re: Yamaha F25 EFI

I was thinking of buying a 2023 Yamaha F25 but I heard the tiller handle vibrates a lot at idling/trolling speeds. Since most of my fishing is trolling, this could be a problem, especially if your arm gets numb after a while. Does anyone have any views on this? I waited nearly two years to get one ...

Re: Minn Kota Service Repair

Amazing what a simple phone call can do. ;) So I just talked to the guy. His name is Trevor Sinnet and he is a MK trained tech who got his training at the Prop Shop. Minn Kota approached him to set up a service center in this area as they had Kingston and Montreal. He started on Merivale last Feb b...
