Thanks everyone! I travel there by bus and foot so this really saves me a day of BS if there wasnt safe ice!

nice catch, but please look into the rules for zone you are fishing in. If they were muskies im sure you would receive a not so enjoyable visit from conservation officers and either given a ticket or summons to appear. The Ottawa River (zone 12) they must exeed 54" and the Rideau River(zone 18 ...

I grew up in barhaven and we would bike down greenbank just past the bridge there is a bay on the jock river thats full of surprises.
andrew haydon has some docks near the boat launch that i recently saw children catching panfish from, and the rocks from the park have some decent walleye and pike.

victoria island is good, also blackbridge (old train bridge west of war museum) is pretty good. Can't access the pillars anymore but even from shore isnt bad usual get a couple small ones there. Ive never been in spring but i would think rockliffe park would be a decent spot.
