Re: Charleston Lake Lakers

Smitty...this is just my opinion, but I do spend a few days a year on the lake, either trapping, hunting or fishing...I can tell you one thing for sure, I dont remember seeing any MNR activity on Charleston Lake recently...and I'm on Charleston all year long from ice out to freeze up, including the ...

Re: Charleston Lake Lakers

Lake Trout fishing on Charleston is definitely not what it used to be...over harvesting of 7-10 lb fish, coupled with alewife die offs in consecutive years, and stocked fish that weren't spawning or getting along with the naturals, all adds up to what it is now...Lakers were starving(big heads &...

Re: What is your opinion?

I agree with you 100% bud...frustrating but it seems to fall on deaf ears. I can't believe that the CO's don't set up for the opener. I've met boats coming out of the launch at 4:30 am heading home with their limit, and then when I'm out there jigging an hour later, look over and see the same truck ...

You're not the only one who holds that opinion...if you're talking about what goes on at Cardinal that is?

Re: Head buffs

Wore one full time last summer for the first time...and will be wearing one from now on! It makes a big difference on how you feel at the end of a 10-12 hour day when your ears, face, and necked aren't torched, important, especially if you plan on doing it the next day and the day after and so on.

Re: Lac Ogascanan

Funny you ask...I just got home today from a 4 day trip to Ogascanane lodge. The ice just went off on May 10th, the water is about 2 feet high and things are about 2-3 weeks behind right now. The Walleye fishing was very good, we caught Sauger and Blue Walleye as well, and some nice Northerns...only...

Try some of the Gambler KO hooks, using the large owner centering pins, and pick up some t stop rubber pegs...and yes don't forget your 65 lb braid and 1 to 1.5 tungsten wts. Any type of creature/craw bait works fine! I use this type of setup on my Loomis 7'11" (954).

None of us know if ANY of our fish ultimately survi...
