Re: information on bobs lake.

Been in there once or twice. Couldn’t tell you spots if I tried because I don’t even know where our starting point was. We caught bass (both large and small mouth), lost a few lures to pike and caught a few crappie. I imagine the standard bluegill and perch are in there too. That’s about all of the ...

Re: looking for upholstery repair/replacement

There's a mom and pop shop in Edwards. They do outstanding work at VERY reasonable prices. Thier name escapes me right now, but if you still need it next week I can look it up when I'm back at the store. Ed If it’s the shop you told me to go to, I beleive it is T&L upholstery. And yes, they get...

Re: Aluminum boat repair

Sent you a PM. I would not recommend heating this up yourself but there may be others who can help out.

Check your PM for some other details that may help you at least find someone a little more knowledgeable on what could possibly be done to fix this.

Re: Reel maintenance?

If they are all Shimano reels, send them to their Head office in Peterborough . You can call them up for specific details on how to do this.

I have a store close to me that will ship them out which is what I do with some of them if I don't feel like cleaning them myself.

Re: Line breaks 2018 - where was I going wrong

Although what Ed is saying about the hook set is spot on, I think your bigger issue may be you are using a Palomar knot for fluorocarbon line. That knot has a lot of friction points that will heat up if it isn't wet enough and with the double line going through it so tight, all of the line my not be...

Re: Tackle (Reel) import from Japan - customs

I haven't bought much used but I would assume you would still get hit with at least GST and maybe some crazy brokerage fees. Notice in CNDbasshunters pic, that there are $84.19 in brokerage. That is high so I am assuming this was shipped Via UPS as they have crazy brokerage costs. if shipped by USPS...

Re: leaders: yes or no?

I never use a steel leader with a swivel. If I am concerned about the fish seeing the line, I will tie on a flouro leader but I don't ever worry about losing lures.

Do I lose lures? you bet and its a pee pee off when it happens but it doesn't happen enough to me to warrant worrying about it.

Re: Boat Rental Advice

I have fished 4 out of a 14.5 foot boat and its doable if the guys all fish often and understand where their lines are going but I would say the bigger boat may be the better option.

Re: Boat Rental Advice

What type of fishing are you going to do?

I would go with the Crestliner unless the back casting deck on the tracker (although its a small deck) is the reason you are having a tough time deciding.

Re: Plastic bunk wrap

I haven't used it but I have read enough reviews to knw I will be buying something similar the Cailber bunk material. As Ed pointed out, the only disadvantage that I have come across is that it is a little slicker than carpet so people recommend you leave the winch strap hooked up in the front until...
