Although what Ed is saying about the hook set is spot on, I think your bigger issue may be you are using a Palomar knot for fluorocarbon line. What components did you use?

I never use a steel leader with a swivel. If I am concerned about the fish seeing the line, I will tie on a flouro leader but I don't ever worry about losing lures.

Do I lose lures? you bet and its a pee pee off when it happens but it doesn't happen enough to me to warrant worrying about it.

I have fished 4 out of a 14.5 foot boat and its doable if the guys all fish often and understand where their lines are going but I would say the bigger boat may be the better option.

What type of fishing are you going to do?

I would go with the Crestliner unless the back casting deck on the tracker (although its a small deck) is the reason you are having a tough time deciding.
