Re: quebec license non resident

Does the quebec license work the same as Ontario's in that kids fall under their parent's license or do they need one as well?

Re: Shirley's Bay road closed

Yes .. it looked like a 3/4 tonne truck.

It was so windy I think it was drifting over behind them as they were going.
Definitely sled or heel-toe is the only way to get out.

Re: Shirley's Bay road closed

Was out at Shirley's Bay yesterday afternoon. Someone was plowing a road out part. I am not sure how far or where he was plowing but while I was there he went straight out launch and then turned and was going parallel to shore. Be careful if you are heading out on a snowmobile and crossing over the ...

Hi Doug It is easier if you switch to satellite. The following link will take you to Rideau Ferry. https://www.google.ca/maps/@44.8521984,-76.1356407,1468m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en Turn on Yacht Club Road, follow to Rideau Valley Conservation Authority boat launch on your right. Will likely be a bunch of...

Re: FH closing March 1st ???

I will admit it .. I am a lurker. I read more than I post. If the site closes down it will be missed .. and I will definitely go through withdrawals. I will also admit that I check-in multiple times per day (at work and at home) just to see what is new and to see what adventures others on this site ...

Re: Bass Pro Shops

You'd be surprised at how competitive some of those little shops are. It's amazing what very little overhead can do to the prices. I have been in a few small shops which were great .. but where I currently live .. I find the local shop outrageously priced and find the service quite poor. I want to ...

Re: Propane Heater

I have had success with my sunflower type heater both inside and out of my shelter.
I have turned it on outside the hut and sat/stood near it .. mostly just to warm up hands.
I bought a 10 lb tank for mine recently from Levac in Perth. Much lighter and easier to pack than the 20 lb I used last year.

Re: Rideau Ferry Yacht Club

I was at launch on Saturday .. counted about 8 trucks/SUVs on the ice. Two of which were out in main channel between stonehouse island and briggs island. Nutz!! While I was checking things out with binoculars a 3/4 ton went put pulling a trailer. Spoke to a few people and they said it was 14" a...

Buddy Heater

Does anyone have any experience, or success, using a buddy heater with a large tank and hose? I bought a hunter buddy heater in November (2014) and would like to run it off a 10 lb tank. I bought a filter for it, and had a hose here from camping. The issue is, the tank with hose does not work that w...

Re: Perth Area Hard water.

That is where I ice fish.
I don't take my truck on the ice but I know many others do.
I usually just wait till someone drives on the ice.
