25 hp Evinrude Electric
Hi Guys This may be a silly question for those that know but here goes. :( My 25 hp Evinrude Electric Start has a starter problem. The motor runs like a top but the electric start does not work. The starter spins, lots of juice in the battery, it just doesn't engage the geared flywheel. Now here's t...

Walleye in the Ottawa
Hi Ya Winder Was out on the Ottawa yesterday, trolled for miles with only a couple small walleye and a sauger. Found a sunken island about 100 yards square about 6 foot of water to the top, full of weeds. Decided to drift over it with my old stand by, drive the pike crazy lure ( silver rattlespot )...

Downrigger techniques or tips
Just added a downrigger to my boat. Does anyone have any tips or techniques that have worked for them? My main reason for adding it is lakers. Have had moderate success over the last few weeks. Have tried many different methods, different speeds, zig zagging, 15 feet above the fish to right in among...

Gord Ellis Article
That's a great article by Gord Ellis. Have verticle jigged for lakers in the past with moderate success. Used Kastmasters and Swedish Pimples. Never thought to try anything heavier or tubes. Thanks for the article, will definately give this a good try. Particularly liked the line about using any col...

Probably don't remember, but when you were at Fishin Buddies on Carling(a couple of years ago  ). You used to pal around with a young lad by the name of Keith, who was a buddy of my so...

Braided Monofilament
Hi Ya Guys
tried this stuff for the first time last year on a couple of trolling reels. Has anyone tried it on spinning reels? Just curious, it works great for trolling and the strength to diameter is amazing. Who said you can't teach old dogs new tricks?
Thanks

Fishing Maps
I like to fish different waters. There is a guy in Westmeath, up near Pembroke that sells fishing maps. Has anyone tried his maps? If so would you recommend? Will be in Cobden later in the week to give Muskrat a try. I might run into Westmeath to pick up a couple. He does have a website, listed belo...

New to your site
Just found your site and like to say that after browsing around awhile found it to be very interesting. Recently retired to do my favorite pastime (fishing). Will be back often. I do have a question if anybody has any info. I will be in the Parry Sound area in a couple of weeks. Going to haul my boa...
