renfrew/eganville
Just a question about these areas.I have not fished this area in over 10 years(give or take). I will be up for a day trip to Renfrew, and I was thinking of heading up to Eganville if time allows. I remember fishing near centennial park in Eganville in the Spring/summer. Is fishing still done there, ...

Re: Catfish Aren't Just Scavengers
I was talking to few on the weekend about catfish, and most said they will not wast their time. Me, I am the opposite. I like the early fishing season, and how you have to try to outsmart them. I also like how they fight. Great sports fish in my opinion.

Re: Spring Catfish countdown!
My pop always told me the Cats will be biting just before you start to see the dandy lions. I thought he was pulling my leg when he told me, but its true. Pay attention this year and you'll see ;) Rob Must be a grandfather thing. Mine said before the weeds grow, and the heat starts to much at night.

Re: Spring Catfish countdown!
I have not been out in years for cat, but will be out this year. I always went near the end of April, or start of May. I hit them at all times of the day, but had best results on cloudy days. Not sure why, but was always fun. I always fished down near Glen Walter in one of the creaks, or the Raisin ...

Re: Fishing show in Ottawa?
Ed from Paddletales Tackle summed up what a show is like for the vendor, which is what I suspected. I know exactly where you are coming from. I worked for a computer/ audio/ video company, and trade show, business showcase, and other events always was pack up, setup, showoff and tear down. I do miss...

Re: Fishing show in Ottawa?
I agree that the internet has a lot of information, but you cannot feel and play with the gear like you can at a show. Hell. In the 90's I remember thumbing threw every fishing magazine I could get my hands on, to see what new gear was out, and any reviews. But that did not take away from our trip t...

Re: Fishing show in Ottawa
if there was one like that, I would be there. I remember spending more time in the other 2 buildings, then in the boat part in the Ottawa civic center.

Re: HT 2017 Ice Tour - Sail Ottawa, Saturday February 11th
Is this years show just boats as I seen in one ad? I have missed the last few years at the new location, but was looking forward to the trip this years to see the sportsman area. I remember many trips to the cattle palace for this part of the show at the old location.

Long sault parkway
I have a question. I know that a permit is required for use of the picnic and beach area, but is there spots along the parkway that you can park and fish without one? When I was a kid, i remember you had to pay to enter the parkway, and then you could fish almost anywhere you wanted. Now I know it i...

Done for 2016
With the snow flying, and no free time till after the new year, I am done for the 2016 season. Had a fun year this year. Kids had a ball out fishing, and so did the wife. We have a few adventures on the side burner to do in 2017. Algonquin park, Carp in Long Sault, Catfish in the spring, pike and ma...

zebco 600
Looking for parts for an old Zebco 600. Lost the nut that holds the handle, and the washer. The washer is not a problem, but to find a nut that fits and is not looses, seems almost impossible. is there an alternative ?
