Keeping a few fish here and there isn't what we're worried about is it? THere's an interesting article in Canadian Fly Fishing magazine about the current trend to practice catch and release fishing. OF course it promotes c & r fishing but it also points out that keeping a few fish now and then i...

This is a great thread. Most of my posts are about the lake I live on so I am always conscious of the fact that if i reveal too much information about the spot i'm in the reader can find my little honey hole and fish it out. I will PM people who are asking for help fishing on a body of water i may h...

There is something about Cronzy that drives me crazy. He does mention "shore lunch" a lot on his show and i don't think he spends much time teaching anything about angling.

atleast its another chance to watch fishing when i can't be out there.

Merry Christmas everyone.

I have a 14' starcraft utility boat. its rated for 35hp. i have a 25hp and it does nearly 40mph. i'm glad i don't have a 35hp. thats quick for a tiller (in my opinion).

Sorry to hear about the tough time catching fish Mike. It sounds like you did alright though. The experience must have been awesome. You should be proud just to be asked. I'm pretty friggin impressed.

You'll know exactly what to expect next year.

I'm looking forward to the pics/report.

Awesome catch! The smallmouth definately fight harder than the largemouth. And imagine a 4 lber. Mustn't have been a quick fight! You're right. it took a while to get him in, even with a net. The fish went under the boat and my buddy said "just pull him up and i'll net him" but that fish ...

Daylrimple Lake

My buddy and I decided to try a new lake yesterday morning so we headed up to Daylrimple lake. We've heard great things about big bass and plenty of pike in the lake. After launching the boat at a very narrow/shallow launch we headed south to the upper portion of the lake (i know that sounds backwar...

Great job on the Musky matt!!!

The unexpected musky hits are the best. Gets the heart racing while you try to figure out what the hell you've gotten yourself into.

Good work!

how deep should my prop be in the water?

I have a 14ft starcraft utility fishing boat. I used to have a short shaft 15hp motor but recently my father in law has given me a 25hp long shaft motor. Obviously there is a difference in how deep the prop is in the water now and depending on what notch i have the motor position in, this can be dow...

I had a hard time switching from my trusty 8lb mono but now i use 20lb power pro and haven't looked back. No more break off's at the hook set and it really is needed for dragging those big girls out of the slop. On the hookset, i wait for the bait to disappear for an excited 2 count (a little faster...
