Re: Shirleys Hardwater Decline
Was out Sunday evening for an hour or so with the dog. Got there and set up around 3:40. Went past all the shacks. Caught 2 walleye in no time and then the wind picked up and dog got cold so I left. Gold Swedish pimple tipped with a frozen minnow head for first one and tipped with full frozen minnow...

Re: Favorite Prensentation for River Walleye
For me it depends on where on the river. If it is calm enough to stay in relatively one spot jigging with worms and minnows is great. Where I have been fishing them last few years has really fast current and lots of rocks so jigging is hard without getting snagged every couple minutes. Here I like t...

Re: Go Jump In A Lake - is it safe? Calabogie Lakes Question
Good to go, a lot of those lakes are great for swimming. Worst case if they do get a leech on them pour some salt on it and flick it off. I haven't gotten any leeches for those areas in the past though. Have fun!

Re: Nearby Lakes With Shore Fishing Access
Yep that's the spot. I've seen some nice bass, walleye and a Muskie pulled outta there. I haven't been in a couple years but when I did go I would fish where the culvert goes under the causeway on both sides. Or i'd walk further down the causeway and there are some paths on the left that bring you t...

I hear ya on that Gord. It would suck if they aren't following the limits, especially in your backyard.

Re: Holding Pens
As long as they are not exceeding the limits I don't see an issue with it. I'd watch out or snappers and birds if I was them though. I've had snappers steal fish right off the stringer multiple times in the past. I've seen people with bird/hamster cages that they put out in the water along the shore...

Right on man, both of those are beauty fish. Hard to beat a top water bite of any species but a 50+ must have been unreal. Congrats man and keep it up rest of the season!!

Re: Nearby Lakes With Shore Fishing Access
Morris island on the Ottawa River is a good spot. There are a lot of spots you can fish out on the main river or ya can walk up and down the causeway for shallower weedy bays, depending on water level. All kinds of species here. I have personally seen walleye, bass, pike, carp, gar, Muskie, sunfish ...
