Re: 12' bow VS 10' Jon Boat

depends on what you want it for. The ten ft jon should be a lot lighter. I had a ten foot I used for duck hunting ponds /swamps/marsh and there was nothing better,. It was very light and easy to pull up on shore and bogs, plus with my 8 ft box and with the tail gate down nothing hung out of the back...

Re: Cecil the Lion - How things change

After reading that article I have to wonder if they actually thought of what the consequences' could be all at the expanse of restoring north America to what it was 13,000 years ago. Should humans also go back to living in caves? Maybe there was elephants here 13,000 years ago, but over that time fa...

Re: Talon or elctronics?

They both serve a purpose you just have to look in the mirror and honestly ask your self what kind of fishing will I be doing most of the time. While yes talons do work exceptionally well at launches they do serve a purpose while fishing. For example if you know you have a fish on a certain piece of...

Im assuming you have checked to see if the bulbs are burnt out. A lot of times corrosion is the issue.

Re: Charleston Lake Lakers

This sounds strikingly similar to the state of Loughborough. When they opened Loughborough up for winter trout fishing again it was clear there were starving fish in the lake, huge heads and skinny little bodies, and also full of soft plastics. It was common to catch them up in 4-5FOW cruising aroun...

I have had this same problem before, and have tried a lot of different solutions (not really solutions). If the crack is in an area that flexes like in the bottom of your boat then an epoxy likely wont last long and end up leaking or cracking. I would say your best bet is to have it welded.

if you venture down to the east end i would go about it very carefully. There are a ton of shoals, and on top of that nothing is marked. Many many motors are wrecked yearly.
