Re: Choosing the right trolling motor
My father has an older Lund 1775 with a 55lb powerdrive. It does the job on a calm to moderate day. Anything more than 10mph and it is useless. I wasn't going to get into the 12v/24v talk but since its been brought up, it is always better to over power. You will never wish you had less power... As ...

Re: Choosing the right trolling motor
Andy you pretty much listed everything that is on a Minn Kota Power Drive 55 with I Pilot. I have this unit on my Alaskan and love it. We have actually fished a total of over 8 hrs using the electric motor off and on controling drifts and spot lock with no issues with battery power and the battery i...

Re: Draft Strategic Policy for Bait Management-VHS Implicati
The problem is not with the guy catching his own minnows or the ones that have a lic to seine minnows for selling in his store as I did this for yrs for our store. The problem arises with minnows that are shipped in from other zones and provinces. If you trap minnows from the watershed you are fishi...

Re: Fishing show in Ottawa?
Ed summed it up big time for retailers to do a show. Now over the yrs doing the shows I think what a lot of the people coming to the shows enjoyed was the companies who had displays setup with their merchandise along with personnel to talk to you about new products and exsisiting product lines. Mont...

Congrats on the Ling. Was going to try and get in there to try for one but don't think it is going to happen before full melt down.

Re: Fishing show in Ottawa
I used to have a booth at the Ottawa show when it was at Lansdown and for me it was cost in the end and just not the interest that I received in Montreal and Toronto. Now I was on the outfitter end but we always got together after the show and it seemed that it was a general consensus. As a consumer...

Re: Boat Carpet Installation
I am by Morrisburg and have done a lot of carpet installations when we had the shop and sold boats. What boat style do you have and what type of carpet do you want intalled will determine how big of a job it is. I could look at it and give you an idea but would need to be warm weather and before wal...

Re: Good Mexico Guiding Services?
I have done Mexico on both sides and have always done the same thing and that is stay away from the commercial guys and get one of the locals to take me out fishing. You will have a blast as I was across the water in Cozumel the last time and did the bone fish and patch shoals with lots of fish and ...

Re: Cameras?
I have one and it is nice when the water is clear but has the ability to take your mind off fishing and more watching the screen. If they ever come up with a wireless model that you can attach to your line I would upgrade but a good Sonar is more useful in my opinion and keeps you fishing
