Re: Helix 5 - set up?

Stock Humminbird setting are fairly decent, but they do take well to some minor tweaking, Set your beam frequency to 83kHz/200kHz to take advantage of the added detail of the 20° 200kHz cone and the wider 60° coverage of the 83kHz cone. Under the DI menu, DI Sensitivity = adjust up to brighten/down ...

Re: Opinions on boats wanted..

I've fished out of a lot of boats and I only own a small jon boat for trapping and hunting now. If I was to get back into the boat ownership game and fish seriously again, then without a doubt I'd get a big Lund liller set up and put a casting deck in it. Simplisity and low maitenence would be the ...

Re: Swim Baits

Soft swimbaits are one of the most universal multi species baits out there. You can buy them in various sizes to accommodate your needs. They can literally be used almost anywhere for any species. I use the New Jackall Rhythm Waves in 3.8" for swim jig trailers, chatterbait trailers, rigged wi...

Re: Swimbait Grease

That is a fine catch. I have been looking at those swim baits. They come in 6.5 and 8 inch. Top hook and bottom hook. Baby bass or Clear Lake Hitch look like some good colors. Has anyone had good luck with these swimbaits? They also make a weedless version that you rig with a 10/0 Owner Beast swimb...

Swimbait Grease

Every spring I make the trip over to the province of Quebec to partake in the spring trout bite, The lake our camp is on used to be dynamite for Lake Trout and Specks but since the bass were introduced to the lake 20 some odd years ago it has never been the same. I headed out Wednesday morning with ...

Re: Trolling motors

Had a Terrova on the old boat, and it's the only thing I miss. It's much faster then the PDV2, if your doing any type of shallow water fishing you'll appreciate it.

There's a couple lakes with little open sections up around Otter lake, everything that doesn't have something flowing into it is still frozen.
