Well that was fun!
Landed this PB Ling, it is 28 inches long and beat my previous PB (2016) by an inch.

Re: Ice Season So Far
Thanks for the report. The message board software was upgraded a few months ago, so it should not be too hard to post photos now, I know it was for awhile. Click the “Attachments” tab below… then click “Add files” and select your photos from your computer or phone and done. I added 3 photos just as...

I guess -24C was worth it
Wow, ice went from 3 inches thick yesterday to 5 inches today on the Rat, it was -24C when I arrived this morning... brrrrrrr!!! The ice was singing us a merry song as we headed out on the jet black ice. Got out and hammered the smelt and even got a bonus 3.1lb laker on one of the teeny tiny 3mm tun...

Re: access to pike lake for ice fishing
Sadly no. I was invited to fish there by a cottager a few weeks ago and he confirmed that in winter there is no way on the lake without permission from a land-owner.

Re: Indian Lake for splake
Giving a "bump" to an older topic. Anyone have experience ice fishing for splake on Indian Lake? https://goo.gl/maps/iYxDKuqCA3eCGuGT8 The MNR stocks a good number of them in there. From my experience ice fishing smaller stocked lakes, splake tend to behave more like brook trout and I usu...

Re: Shirley's Bay 2022 Ice season
Thanks for the update guys, haven't hit Shirlies for a bunch of years, may have to give it a shot this year. Wondering if anyone has hit Constance Lake yet, might check it out tomorrow Pretty sure I saw Scarkner post earlier that he was on Constance last week. It's always the first ice to freeze up...

Re: Ice Season So Far
Hey Scarkner, sounds like you've had some decent trips already! Are you fishing in Zone 18? I checked out a few lakes up by Calabogie last weekend, but they were all wide open still. With the weather we've had now and the current forecast I think I'll be able to get on some good ice by Boxing day! ...

Ice Season So Far
Yes I said "So Far"... It's already been an awesome year with my first trip on December 5th which saw a few nice brookies landed. Also hit Constance Lake on Dec 12 for some great panfish action (sadly no pike). The season was then interrupted by some open-water fishing on 15th December on ...

Re: Shirley's Bay 2022 Ice season
Given the weather, could be a while, we had the hut set up on Jan 3rd and 4th in 2021, 2020... Wpont be this year! CCLad. I think you might be wrong on that :-) Looking at my diary, we are right on track. I would speculate that first ice-fishing on the bay will take place by Dec 30th (4 inches of i...

Salmon run heating up in Port Hope
Got out to Port Hope for some salmon fishing this weekend. When you are out on a boat or kayak, it's almost painful to look back at the shore and see so many people crossing lines and jockeying for a spot to fish! The weather started out a bit windy and rough when we got there at 10am. We fished unt...

Can confirm that Constance Lake was super slushy, even the skidoos were having a hard time.
