Re: White Lake bass opener and a warning

Well, looks like the only "douche bag" in this incident was .... me. I thought all boats needed to be registered; not the case. Any boat under 10hp need not be. I also was under the impression that possession limit was 6 fish total; did not know it was 6 fish per species. This is was I li...

Re: Striking Gold!

Kerrazy You guys are doing excellent!! you mentioned being the only guys in camp putting up the numbers so I assume you are at an outfitters. Curious as to where you are because I book 2 walleye weekends a year for my group and am always looking for new locations within a reasonable 1/2 day drive fr...

Re: Lac-ste-Marie

Hey Wally sometimes I wonder whether you are just posting on the board for some fun and to see how people might respond. You've been posting on this site for a couple of years now asking questions about walleye fishing on Lac Ste. Marie. If you are serious, it isn't that hard man. There is a ton of ...

Re: Mississippi Lake -Temps

I was all over that lake today and temps were consistently in the mid 60s to upper 60s by mid day. First time I have fished walleye on that lake since the slot was established. I'd say it's working

Re: 31 mile lake report

I don't quite get why people sometimes think that "I was here first so I have the right to an entire area". You were anchored on a drop off which is presumably a known area? I am not at all surprised that some locals might go out for the evening bite and want to fish that same drop off. Th...

Re: What would you like to see?

RJ I think that some kind of beginners guide for people new to fishing would be pretty helpful. There are a lot of good fishermen on this site, trading info, jokes, talking gear, and what not. And I suspect a lot of that stuff is a bit intimidating for someone new to the sport. I've seen newbies on ...

Re: driftwood P.P. or antler kinfisher lodge

I have fished the 20 mile stretch around driftwood a fair bit. we target walleye and we do well. incidental pike and smb catches but I couldn't say how good the fishing is for either because we have never targeted them. have ran into some big smallies though. we find the walleye on rock structure in...

Re: Senkos, Senkos, Senkos.

thinking about it further, I find the slower the fall rate the better which also varies by brand. I wouldn't use a weighted jig with a senko hooked that way because it would increase the fall rate.

Re: Senkos, Senkos, Senkos.

I use circle hooks, piercing the bait, without an o ring. I've been fishing senkos a lot the past few years and I find that the bran makes a big difference in how long the senko lasts. I don't really lose senkos to fish although I do lose the odd one that is a bit beat up on a cast.

Re: Local bass tournament for first timer?

RJ is compiling the details on all of the local circuits and that info will be posted soon.

To my knowledge, all of the local circuits require that you fish a series with the exception of the shootout series. It is 200 bucks to fish a shootout series event this summer

Re: Quinte Ice Conditions

I find that year in and year out that folks that warn about ice conditions are often the guys to get the first posts up of some nice early season fish. doesn't bother me, I don't venture near the ice until it is plenty stable. a few hours of relaxing on the ice isn't worth what could happen ...

Re: 2016 Fishing Goals??

My son was 13 last summer and for the first time I got him out in the boat fishing with me in a more serious way. Been trying to get him interested for years. So, the primary plan for 2016 is to further develop his interest in fishing. If I can get him to the point where he is asking me to go instea...
