Re: Boat Hoist Advice
I don't have a boat lift yet (but one is in the plans for sure...). I went to the Toronto boat show and I spent quite a bit of time comparing and talking to salesmans regarding the different models/styles. I did bring up the removal and install process with all of them. One of them had a great sugg...

Re: Rebuilding the transom on my Aluminum boat
To bad it was lost but Cprince had a pretty good solid way of using Fiberglass resin with regular plywood that would last a lifetime.
Coat it and screw it to a wall until it cures so it doesnt warp. Nothing would penetrate it so there is no way it could rot out.

Re: Need some fishing boat advice
Nice rig, I am sure Raisin river could help you out with any of the motor reconditioning you need done. Laurentian seems to have a pretty good reputation on this board as well so I don't think you can go wrong either way. I have also had pretty good success with Pirate cove but 90% of my work has be...

I made my pitchin stick decision...
Well after months of waiting, I finally made my decision... I waited for the Megabass x4 destruction to come in and what a gorgeous rod that thing is. It just didn't balance the way I was hoping it would. Also, i had heard how narrow the handle was but what i saw was even thinner than expected. if y...

Re: Welcome to our new Forum
SWEET! I think you made a good decision here although I think this should be called theMaverick, lape0019 and biggs forum section! :D Lol. I am sure there will be more people using it. I know CN has some rod customization that probably would be nice to see and from other forums there seem to be a f...

Re: Need some fishing boat advice
I used indoor/outdoor carpet that I picked up from home depot. I think it was $20 for 10'x8' roll. Holds up really well, no fading in the sun, I'm very happy with it, I'd use it again. As for you motor, can't help you much, I'm starting to try and do some of my own repairs, so far so good. lots of ...

Re: Need some fishing boat advice
Somewhere else I had read a guy got it off the BassCat website. I just checked and it is 24oz carpet for $9.00 a foot. As for a good place to get your motor serviced; I only go to Raisin river Marine in lancaster because it is close to my familly cottage and they have never steered me wrong. The spe...

Re: Boat Hoist Advice
My dad has a 4500 or 5500 lb model and we usually have someone do it for us. I don't know why but he just pays the guy to put the aluminum docks and the lift in at the same time. We did put it in one year and basically got 4 guys and two paddle boats. We lowered the sides onto the paddle boats.Move ...

Re: Rods And Reel Coupling - What Goes With What?
Hey Craig, I would start with that gorgeous dx 702 (Biggs must really want another xx rod :P ) and mount the curado 50e on it. I would use 15 to 20 lbs braid on this and use a flouro leader for any application but especially if you were to use it for drop shotting. Shimano crucial flippin stick with...
