helix 7 vs 596c hd
Right now I have a hummingbird 596c hd and the screen is getting a little messed up. So I was thinking a new helix 7 might be
in order. Aside from the obvious bigger screen is the helix any better than the old 596 c hd. Also I like the unit to be as simple as possible. Thanks

Re: Engine mounted trolling motor
Was thinking of doing the same on my 60hp Mercury 4 stroke/ 1650 Legend ,how big would I need ,who sells them in Ottawa. Check them out on the MinnKota sight as there is good info on the sizes etc. One thing you have to watch for is the depth of the cavitation plate under the water line on your boa...

I put one on my 140 and just love it. Mine is 24 volt 80 lb and can troll my 18 ft Crestliner all day.

Re: Rigger fishing for Lakers ?
There are a lot of deep water lakes in the area with lake trout. I have two downriggers on my boat and use them lots.
If I were you I would keep your setup because you will regret it later. How big of a rig do you have. When you get here I would point you in the direction of a few good lakes.

Re: Looking for
I was at Bait Casters on Sunday and am pretty sure they had the shiver minnow there. Don't know about the tadpole.
You should give her a call. Was my first time there and was very impressed.

Re: Spincast Reels
Well now she is the proud owner of a zebco omega 2. Looks like a well built little reel, just gotta wait for soft water now to try it out. Thanks Ed from Paddeltails for a good deal. I ordered it from Ed on Tuesday about 3 pm and it was in my mail box Wednesday at noon. I couldn't believe it was her...
