Re: A Place For Kids

I went to Rideau river several times recently and it seems this year fishing is a lot tougher than previous years for sure and may be because the water level is low this year and the weed is not in good shape and all brownish like and I saw less lily pad on the river in Kars up to Rideau provincial ...

Was any one on Mississippi lake yesterday?

I went there yesterday and was on the water almost whole day but only few bites, it was a tough day to me. Was someone here also fishing on that lake and feel the same? My friends who went to white lake and Clayton lake also told me the same story so what reason caused the slow fishing for different...

Re: Bass Opener

Smitty55,

Do you think Clayton/Taylor free ramp in current water lever can launch a 16 feet deep v fishing boat?

Thanks,

Re: Bass Opener

Does Lower Beverly have a public boat launch ramp and what size it can handle? Thanks.

Forgot about that!

I guess Lower Beverly is the only suggestion I would have for you then.

LF suggestion on rod G.LOOMIS GL2 series

SAIL is now putting some of G.LOOMIS rods on clearance sale now, can someone tells me which rod I can choose for walleye jigging fishing? I want to use it mainly for walleye jigging (use 1/4 to 3/8 jig head most of time) in Rideau river most of time and I want to feel the bottom structure from the r...

Re: Some fish from the last week to liven things up.

Hi Brent,

Was it on Big Rideau lake since you mentioned Mega bucks but I didn't have good luck as yours since I only caught one SB last week. How deep were you fishing and any special lures used? It looks tomorrow could be a good day for fishing.

Thanks,

Dan

Re: fishing tomorrow

I went out yesterday from 11:00am to 5:00pm at Big Rideau lake and only caught one SB around 3LB. I was fishing several spots around 10ft - 30ft but only one bite on a crank bait at around 24ft water and water temp is 46F - 50F. It was tough fishing to me but I have no complain since it was so nice ...

fishing tomorrow

Seeing the perfect weather tomorrow I want to take a day off and launch my boat somewhere. I am really disappointed to the Rideau river and want to try a different water body. Do your guys have a recommendation? Bass or walley is my target and I only have Ontario fishing license. Mississippi lake, b...

Re: Rideau river

I fished Rideau river last weekend and didn't catch many fish. Your best bet will be moving more south to either lower Rideau lake or big Rideau lake and it seems the Bass Megabucks held last weekend was pretty good fishing record so this weekend should be fine too. I am just not sure if you should ...

Re: St-Lawrence River, the death of me!

Hi Rivergod, I hate current too but the two places near Ottawa like Morrisburg and Cardinal have current so I am not comfortable to deal with. Where is your recommendation WEST place that I could comfortably try your tips on Larry and still not far from Ottawa before I put my gears aside for winter?...

Rideau river biting is slow...

I went out both yesterday and today from 12:00pm to 6:00pm launched in Kars Manotick, each day only one bite but not hooking one fish. I asked other fishing men and they were not doing well either. I was mostly fishing along the weed line that I found the weed seems alive(see my attached photo) abou...
