Re: First walleye ice fishing - Rideau River
Congrats on the nice Walleye and Great pics. Try a Buckshot spoon tipped with a minnow as it has been a walleye killer in the last few yrs for a lot of us. Pound the bottom with it a few times then move up a ft and jig it.

Re: GPS Installation
I have done a lot of installs and could help you out. Don't knock the business as their overhead is more than you can imagine with trying to operate a business. Give me a call and we can set something up as I am south of you out by Upper Canada.

Re: HT 2017 Ice Tour - Sail Ottawa, Saturday February 11th
CBB: Double check to be certain, but I don't think there's a pond this year. Big Jim could confirm this. Ed Jim sent me a email telling me this and so we are going to Sail instead. Sure going to miss the casting Pond as it was the highlight of the outing each yr along with the minnow races. Maybe i...

Not sure what CABELAS store you were at, but I take great offence to your comment. I personally tossed out a large box of assorted prizes to the crowd at the end of the event.. Many anglers got several items. You might want to get your facts in order before you hit send in the future!!! Perhaps an ...

Re: Anyone 3D Print Fishing Stuff???
Pretty cool rod holder and like the glow aspect to it. I don't do the 3D but just got my airbrush and paints to do some blades, baits and spoons for the soon to be open water fishing.

3 4 in auger holes and a ice spud as it just makes it easier to see the fish come in and I can select which ones to try and catch. You really learn how jigs and spoons work on the jig and what to do to make them dance when you can see it in action.

Re: Under Ice Currents!
We have it big time out here on the St. Lawrence and it changes daily depending on the Power Dam and also the water level goes up and down quick. Down 2 ft with this heavy east wind for the last 4 days. Be careful as current eats the ice out from underneath and a couple yrs ago we had a few guys fou...

Re: Long sault parkway
You can access right up to the second causeway by vehicle in the winter, and further by atv or sled. The second causeway is heavily used in the winter for ice fishing. Yes I was thinking from the Ingleside entrance but still why not have the road open...it's a federal park, how much would it cost t...

Re: Long sault parkway
No free spots to fish in the Parkway and some of the area's are now reserved for the or should I say Carp Outfitter. You can fish down along the Hoople Creek Bridge on Hwy 2 east of Ingleside still. A lot has changed with the new Park Admin's with everything getting locked down to pretty much shut t...
